Default X5 PULLEY

I'm rebuilding an X5 SQUARED and was wondering what pulleys are best.
It looks to have XX4 ones in at the moment but I also have some black
ones and some bigger white ones.

We found at the end the best ones were the XX4 rear diff pullies....

We used XX4 pullies in the front, middle (XX4 rear diff ones on both) and centre (XX4 rear belt pulley) at the end combined with the Losi Yellow XXX4 belt. Once a belt roller was istalled close to the layshafts and one of the DMS belt cover stiffeners was fitted the transmission was the free-est it had ever been but also skipped far less than any other combination we ever ran....

Just be aware of gearing with the XX4 pulleys, you will need a surprisingly small pinion!

When we ran our "DMS" spurs, with the AE pads instead of the Losi pucks (which were useless) then yes, no skip, little bit of slipper working initially, but lots of drive still.......

As for the blue belts a huge from me, they were the worst ones by an absolute mile, lost their teeth regular, snapped often and skipped more than a bush kangaroo, it was yellow all the way for me (just make sure it was the wider XXX4 version and NOT the thinner XXXS Touring Car one - this may have been your issue with yellow belts).

I have DMS machined gears all over, dual rollers, custom made 3x belt rollers, yellow belt... but could not avoid skip unless I ran the belt REALLY tight!

AE slippers - is that B4 and just bolt on? No mods needed?

That gearbox brace, does it make that much of a difference???

SHY, you say machined gears all over, I am only referring to the spur gear as a DMS part, the diff and laysheft pullies were all Losi XX4 items.

Belt was set very tight (VERY tight) but the car was still "free".

The AE slipper pads are what the "DMS Spurs" use (no more pucks), the only mod needed was to thin down the boss slighlty on the back of the slipper plates (since they are slighlty too long.

The brace sits on top if the spur cover, we found that when ruunning the belt with lots of tension the cover would "flex" giving lots of movement up and down for the layshaft, the carbon brace we made stops the cover from flexing altogether

got my belts from A-main

that is the reason Y i got rid of the XXX4 yellow belts!!!!

all they did was shread teeth!!!! as the belt runs it gets more flex as the belt is made of a softer rubber or what ever the crap is made from!

any way i havnt had one belt failure since running the blue belts!
