Anyone wanting to relocate there battery here is a brace i am making to get rid of that plastic p.o.s. so you can move the battery all the way back against the shock tower. The prototype is this one the actually piece will be cut out of G10 and C/F. LMK what you guys think.

Here is the first one, I am not sure what to reccomend you guys using to take up the difference in the rear standoff but i used some AE FT shock bushings p/n ASC1780 as they are the perfect height and you can double stud them on both ends. I would like to find some fat aluminum tube that i could cut and tap to 4-40 but for now i am using those.

On the one hand I like the battery strap but on the other I am a little sad that it hasn't taken long for SC10's to start getting "proper". Sorry, but thats just my two cents worth.

I thought the battery strap was an awesome piece of engineering and design!

two thumb screws turned and your battery is out.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is a neat piece of work and I'm not dissing the strap design at all, it's great. It's the fact that we are already getting away from a "spec" design to try to make the car handle better.

Do you run the SC10 on tracks with lots of traction? On the two tracks I have compared it to Slashes so far (hard clay with very dusty surface, and wet, sandy astroturf), the latters had better traction and were much easier to drive; the Associated jumps better, though.
After putting some Traxxas tires on the rear and especially after adding 1° rear toe-in, handling has improved much. My front Traxxas tires arrived today, now I'm waiting for the set of front wheels. Next chance for comparison will probably be on Sunday at the RCRT Duisburg track http://picasaweb.google.de/RCRT.Duis...57507649782114, which should have a little more grip than the ones in Geilenkirchen http://www.anonym.to/?http://picasaw...0609#slideshow and Troisdorf http://www.panik-team.de//index.php?...id=26&catid=30

The reason for my design is simple. Here in the states we usually have two types of track surface. Indoor Clay usually moist or damp with very high traction.
Out of the box the truck will run well on that surface but here is where it comes into play, put it on a dusty loamy track and its a complete different animal against a Slash no forward bite slides around tail happy compared to the Slash because the Slash has the rear steel gear diff weight. Not to mention the Slash also has a full battery tray to use for different battery positions the SC10 does not unless you trim the foam and let the battery gain the 3/4 an inch to sit on the battery stop. JMO but we are fighting traction here.

I see...well, I guess I'll try to add some more weight combined with Traxxas tires. And I could add some Traxxas stickers if hat helps...

No hexes, just the standard B4/T4 fittings (bearings in front and pin in rear)

Took mine to Broxtowe yesterday, to get some pics for the mag.

HUGE fun! bugger all grip on grass.......until the shell hits the floor and then it just rolls over.

Got to be gentle on the old steering and corner speed.

It was huge fun with myself, Fabs, Mr Hudson and Skelding all trying to clear the tripple.
These things are VERY strong!

Can't wait to get to a meeting with one....now where the nearest club!

Anyone stripped a rear wheel yet?

Just been taking some shots for the review at our local BMX track and all of a sudden the car just stopped, but sounded like the slipper was loose. Upon closer inspection, the pin has cut through the plastic on the wheel and striped it completely.

Gutted as the tyres have only been run twice. Hardly any wear at all.

Not personally, but have seen several do it now, looks like you have to check your nuts are tight every run!

terry where have you been ?????

yes the wheels do strip . We filled the spaces in between the moldings with epoxy to strengthen them and installed a slightly longer pin so it just fits. Then torque down on that nut boy! I also hold the axle when removing the wheel nut as some of us have killed the wheel moldings while un doing the nut ???? Also keep an eye on the diff, extra shims will be needed when its been run a while.

thrashed mine round deerdale on astro was ooooooooorsome ! did the tripple once but wind kept catching the bodyshell the other times, It could do all the rest of the track aswell as a truggy !

also tried it on the dirt track at coventry, Dusty Dirt = wheelspin and doughnuts. Was really hard to put the power down on the dusty stuff. even with the 8.5 brushless in it was a struggle. quick though !

Sorry bondy, not had time to read all of this thread.

Will keep everything in mind.
I have the shimz now.

The BMX track is loose gravel and very dusty. I found it quite good to drive on. I must have the slipper set just about right.

Ar Coventry running a class for these then?
