Default Cat SX2 shredding rear belt

Hi does anyone know how to stop my rear belt shredding?

I have run the car on a mixed surface of tarmac with a fine covering of small stones and I presume a stone has got caught and acted like a lathe!!!. I have run it with and without undertray but am fed up of replacing belts.

Does anyone else have this problem?

check the layshaft bearing as these tend to collapse and cause issues like this

Is the car quite old?

I bought a 2nd hand cat a few years ago and that kept eating belts. Turned out the pulley was worn. Once I replaced it it never did another belt again.
