Default IFMAR Pre Worlds and African Cup EP Off Road 2009

The IFMAR and 1st African Cup EP Off Road event has now been completed with few but very enthusiastic drivers taken part.
The event was held over two days with 4 rounds of qualifying taking place on the Saturday and 3 rounds for the finals on Sunday…

The track was just completed in time for this event and was therefore the inauguration event also.

The 2 wheel drive class was first to start the event with average lap times beginning at 18.10 sec and TQ taken this class with 16.797…but quickest lap going to Gary Styger at just over 15.3sec.

The 4 wheel drive followed in the order of the race event with beginning lap times at
19.917 and TQ coming in 15.919 and quicktist lap going to Guilherme De sousa at 15.427

Finals run over 3 heats with the best 2 to count and here the racing was not to shabby neither…

The winners were not confirmed till the last heat was ran and the results are as follows

2wd

Pos Car Driver Scores
1 2 Gary Styger 2 2 1
2 3 Stefan Fourie 1 4 2
3 1 Kenny Morey 3 1 3

4wd

Pos Car Driver Scores
1 1 Guilherme De Sousa 1 1 1
2 4 Stefan Fourie 3 2 2
3 2 Kenny Morey 2 7 3

Once again the attendance might haven been down but the practice for the IFMAR championship gained by the drivers attending will be to their future advantage….

An enjoyable racing event was held and we all look forward to next event.

The track was very short. They cut out about 1/3 of the track that will be part of the Worlds layout.
