Default Truck racing newbie

Hi,

I'm thinking of doing the Boughton Round of the Nationals in May to see how I get on and would like to get a suitable truck set up sorted out.

I've had a look at the relevant pages on the BRCA website but I couldn't find any specific rules and regs on there.

I'm looking for advice on finding the right truck (ideally an SC rather than ST), what sort of electrics setup I'll need to be legal/competitive etc? Any help/advice from the Series regulars would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!

McT

Default Short Course

Hi

It might be worth joining the Facebook page as you will get more answers quicker these days.

https://www.facebook.com/ukshortcourse/

As for rules we are just waiting on them to be uploaded to the BRCA site but you can run any 540 size motor from the brca list in 2wd with 2s Lipo again from the brca batteries list. If you are running 4wd then either 540/550 motors are allowed (550 motors don’t have to be on the list but 540 must).

Truck wise in 2wd most run associated, TLR or PR with a few Xray conversions also appearing over the winter. 4wd most run teckno or TLR

Hope this helps 👍

Hi

Great thanks! I have found the Facebook group, I'm just waiting on my join request being accepted.

Interesting to see this is one of the only series where TLR still has a good following. I have been looking at the PR SC201 as the spares back up looks better.

I have got a lot of spares for my TLR 22 3.0 but I'm not 100% sure on how much is interchangeable....
