With the Last and Final round of a massively sucsessful series hosted at www.wycomberacing.co.uk sponsored by www.xfactoryrc.co.uk now completed im glad to mention that in total over the 4 rounds we had 26 different drivers compete and all did well in their own rights.

Didnt come out too well thouhg :/

Track Fact: The raised off camber sweeper with the nipples on the inside, caught every single driver out more than once! It got to the point that Darren even decided to give them a name. The Himalayas as they were known were a wonderful feature and something i shall be re-creating again in the future

The Himalayas:

Round 1 of 4 FTQ went to Darren Boyle on his Losi Mini 8 with a cracking 23L 5.74s, he was over 2 laps clear of second place John Barnes. 3rd Place was our top Jnr Daniel Andrews. Craig Homer giving his new 'Schumacher Micro' its first run in anger he did brilliantly to bring it in home in 5th Place.

Round 2 of 4 FTQ closed the gap up between the top of the order with improvements made by John and Daniel to close in to Darren and bringing his gap down to less than a lap. From 4th place however down to 11th were all covered by less than a lap.

Round 3 of 4 FTQ saw John and Daniel once again bring the times down and close in on Darren. Gary Jordan in a lower heat, Jumped from 8th in RD2 to 2nd in RD3. Craig in his Schumacher was still putting in reasonable times and hanging onto the back of the fight for the 'A' final. The youngest driver of the series, Ben Kirkham, was doing well and improving with every single heat.

Round 4 of 4 FTQ once again see Gary, Daniel and John all closed the gap to Darren but none could beat his fasest FTQ 1 time to take pole. Harry Redstone made the 'B' final on his first time at the track. A special mention to his father Dave who bought a Losi Mini 8ight at the start of the day, built up the car and charged the batteries, competed in the Final FTQ. Just shows how easy it is to get racing with Micro Cars!

'F-Final' Went to Jon Faull with a clean streak of wins, with Dave Redstone taking 2nd and Ben Kirkham taking 3rd.

1st-Jon Faull-LRP Shark
2nd-Dave Redstone-Losi Mini 8ight
3rd-Ben kirkham-Losi Mini 8ight

'E-Final' was another straight forward set of Finals with Tony Stark taking all 3 wins quite comfortably with Tom Kirkham, Ian Smith and Ian Roberts all taking there respective postion in all 3 finals.

1st-Tony Stark-Losi Mini 8ight
2nd-Tom Kirkham-Losi Mini 8ight
3rd-Ian Smith-losi Mini 8ight
4th-Ian Roberts-LRP Shark

'D-Final' Took all 3 heats to find a winner and the winner was Mark Andrews. He narrowly pipped Colin Kirkham to the win by a single point. Andy Evans claimed 3rd with two 3rd places and Wycombe Virgin, Chris Rodgers finished less than a lap behind everytime in 4th place.

1st-Mark Andrews-Losi Mini 8ight
2nd-Colin Kirkham-Losi Mini 8ight
3rd-Andy Evans-Losi Mini 8ight
4th-Chris Rodgers-Losi Mini 8ight

'C-Final' also needed all 3 finals to decide on a winner as there were 3 different winners. Gary Batchelor took the 1st win, Dave Hall took the 2nd win and another WRCC virgin, Dominic Powles taking the 3rd win. The result went down to best time and that was Dave Hall. Craig in his Schumacher EMB-1 hit slight problems as you would expect with brand new cars and did the best his little thumbs could do.

1st-Dave Hall-Losi Mini 8ight
2nd-Gary Batchelor-Losi Mini 8ight
3rd-Dominic Powles-Losi Mini 8ight
4th-Craig Homer-Schumacher EMB1

'B-Final' Was sewn up with 3 wins by Sam Dimelow. Harry Redston claimed second place with Dave Richards and Derek Nash taking 3rd and 4th although joint on points.

1st-Sam Dimelow-Losi Mini 8ight
2nd-Harry Redstone-Losi Mini 8ight
3rd-Dave Richards-Losi Mini 8ight
4th-Derek Nash-Losi Mini 8ight

'A-Final' started off with Daniel Andrews taking the first final after a great and consistant race. Gary Jordan taking 2nd and Darren Boyle taking a surprise 3rd. 2nd final it was order as normal with Darren taking the win, followed by Daniel. Meaning it went down to the final race and with Darren taking the win he sewed up the final race of the series.

1st-Darren Boyle-Losi Mini 8ight
2nd-Daniel Andrews-Losi Mini 8ight
3rd-Gary Jordan-Losi Mini 8ight
4th-John Barnes-Losi Mini 8ight

After the great day of racing trophey presentation for the series took place and the top 10 drivers plus Top Jnr were handed there trophies.

1st Darren Boyle, 2nd John Barnes, 3rd Sam Dimelow, 4th and Top JNR Daniel Andrews, 5th Gary Jordan, 6th Dave Richards, 7th Craig Homer, 8th Gary Batchelor, 9th Mark Andrews and 10th Colin Kirkham.

I must say that the racing and the company was fantastic at each and every round and the grid varied from top 1/10th National drivers to complete and utter rookies. There was someone for everyone to race.

After the trophies, came a raffle and with prizes supplied by;

and

there was something for everyone. The winner of the top prize was Dominic Powle who won a brand new Carbon Chassis with alloy kick up. This however didnt come easy as he threw his ticket away beforehand and had to search through the bin and fight with old pizzas to get it back.

Finally, i personally would like to thank, Darren Boyle with all his help with timing and bringing along spares to all rounds. Also a special thanks goes to Gary Batchelor and Tony Stark for helping setup and remove the track for every round.

There WILL be a winter series next season 6 rounds with dates to be posted closer to the time. I also plan to hold a few special rounds over the summer just so everyone can keep there thumbs in.

If anyone has any comments or photos, please post and i hope to see you all next year!

Sam Dimelow

Hi Sam,
Great report & very enjoyable series, looking forward to the next one. On that note are you opening up earlier on Easter Monday by any chance, wanting to stretch the GTB's legs.
Cheers
