Like that pic, its a little underexposed though - hope you dont mind but I just adjusted the levels in photoshop quickly, just thought it would show people what a difference it makes. It's a very quick adjustment but makes the images pop out more, especially if they are a bit dark.

Took this at the julniors in 2003, using a very basic compact. The full size image does look better than this I have to add.
Since then I've taken better but this was the one that made me want to take better (maybe only Jimmy will fully get where I'm coming from).

thanks jimmy, that made a big difference, i used 1/1000 and the F was set to automatic ( Nikon 5700, i hate it but my wife would kill me if i got a D70, will have to wait for x-mas ) Had sun for most of the day, but this is one of the shots when the sun was covered by a cloud.

OK these are not of RC cars, but they are some of the best ones i have taken. And for some reason bikes always look better than cars ?.

Bikes are so much more 'dynamic' than cars, I prefer watching them, riding them, working on them, far FAR more fun.

I wont post them up since I don't want to steal someone elses thunder (publishers) but I really liked some Truggy photos I got recently. Those things, and indeed any such large mad things are ace to take photos of, they are SO dynamic, balooning tyres, soft suspension, loose surfaces, mega power, smoke etc etc, all makes for great action.
Hence my desire to get some photos of other big wheelers like the 5b

Jimmy you have got the kit, for motorcross you don't need a long lens, as you can get really close to the action so the 70-200 would be ideal. I am sure there are Motorcross meetings in your area when you have a free sunday give it a go

Steve, as you say i think as you can see the rider it just looks better than a driver inside a car etc.

I know what you are saying Stu, This is probably the image that made me want to take it more seriously, similar basic camera (compared to now) - Still, sometimes it can get a bit serious with this huge camera.
