Thumbs up Bilbao

I
lived in Bilbao from 1999 to 2001 and I can say that these people know what a jolly good time is! Looks like the track is quite near the "casco viejo" (the old city). They stay out at night until 8 - 9 am. Seriously!

I would suggest to anyone who can afford the time/cost to go down early or stay a bit after and check out the beaches and the fiestas during the days you're there. They have this thing where each town's patron saint day is cause for their own grand party of the year. Ask the organizers which towns as celebrating their fiestas during the Euros. It will be well worth it. Especially for those interested in meeting friendly, attractive women

Mundaka beach has world class surfing, el antxobe is a town stuck on the ocean where you swim in the port! There is a connecting bridge called el puente Colgante. Google it!

Hello rcracer1.

Nice to read that you know our nice city and Bizkaia province . The Euro 2009 is from 10th to 15th of august and the Bilboko Aste Naguzia (Bilbao´s main week) start on 16th to 24th. So if you can stay some days after the Euro you will enjoy it. But if you can´t, during the Euro you can go to the Portugalete celebrations (Is just in the conecting bridge) and also there are celebrations in Getxoko Portu Zaharra (Getxo´s old port). Very funny celebrations where you can taste "kalimotxo" (Look what it is in google ). Is possible to reach both places with the subway.

Just a couple of corrections rcracer1. The council of "Elantxobe" (All together) cancelled the celebrations in the sea port a couple of years ago to aboid problems, many drunken tourist needed to be recued from the water. But you biggest mistake is that the basque women are attractive, yes, but not really friendly at all .

rc boy, the layout is going to be the same that in the warm up.

Cheers.

Anyone who can stay even for just one day at the main week for the Bilbao festivals will experience a once in a lifetime experience. Partying from 6PM to 10am no joke! Some of the best times of my life were spent there!

Astro 80%, dirt 20%. That is all . But you can find a lot of grass arround the track .

And yes, is really grippy track.
