Default The Cougar Thread

Had my first day with the car today. It was good straight out the box, very easy to drive, handled well, jumped well, was plenty fast enough with a SP 7.5.
My expectations were far exceeded, to be honest, I didn't expect it to go that well. You know, new car, need to change this or that. But nope, changed very little. I ran the rear shocks at the back, as usual for me on all my cars and it was SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

So the build quality was superb, easy to build, straight out the box I was on it!!! What "it" that is, not sure, but I was on it!!!!

You won't be disappointed when you get your Cougar

I'd like to echo the comments of DC although I've not ran the car as yet in a competitive race!! We had a 4wd Regional at Kidderminster today so I stopped off on the way home at Oswestry to give the Cougar a blast and it was superb!

Only issue I had was one of the shock housings coming loose and oil pissing everywhere but that's not a major problem what-so-ever!

Role on Tally

Ran mine at the Mid East Regional today at Robin Hood Raceway and was very pleased with the car! 70 strong attendance and gave a very average driver a great result! Well chuffed.

Run the rear shocks at the rear of the wishbone

have to say i agree with all said above, car is so easy to build no real issues at all, changed one or two things from box set up, ended up shocks at the rear same as dc 30wt 6 holes at the rear 37.5wt 4 holes at the front 6,5sp motor geared on 22 x 83 plenty plenty fast enough, qualified 3rd in the a finished 2nd not a bad first outing,

Whats the difference in handling, mounting the shocks off the back rather than on the front or the rear wishbones?

For me it's simple, it makes the car safer and easier to drive. Nice and predictible. I run both cars with the shocks at the back, 2 and 4wd, can't see me ever going back to shocks at the front.
It's not for everyone, Grant and Simon both run their shocks at the front.
