I would recommend doing the charging and starting every race with a fully charged pack. Your car will be faster with a fully charged pack for starters, and you're not going to unexpectedly run out of battery power half-way through a race.

A 6200 lipo isn't going to run out with 15 minutes use.
Electric racing seems so stuck in the dark ages. We should be doing 15 minute finals by now not this 5 minute rubbish

6200mah cells will probably be 30-50g heavier than 5000/5200 cells which a lot of people use.
Depending on motor and class (2 or 4wd) and the surface you are running on will determine how much you take out the cells. Usually 1500-2500mah during a 7 minute run (practice laps + race).
You could theoretically do two runs on one pack. But its best to recharge between runs. 2 packs are fine for this. As you can do your run. Let the cells cool for 10 minutes and then recharge. Which should take about 30-40 minutes.
You then still have the other pack of cells ready for your next run so no need to worry about getting it ready as you should have plenty of time.

It's also best not to run lipos right down.

Just thought. I'm making the assumption you are racing 1/10th off road.

i use these:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

and after a 5 minute race i charge them to full capacity again which takes about 11 minutes, so 2 of these or 2 of your choice would be fine,

although i did buy more so i have 5 as i cant be bothered charging again, lol

You may want to consider buying saddle packs as they offer more flexibility and you can also run them in a 4wd later if you decided to run that as well.

I would go with 2 packs at a minimum. 5 is a bit of overkill but would mean you wouldn't need to charge at the track
I have 3 so usually use each pack twice during the day but charge between runs.
Keep an eye on the for sale section as well as you may pick up some bargains there.

Here's the list for current brca approved components that have to be run at any Brca sanctioned event, such as regionals.
http://www.brca.org/index.php?q=cont...-updates/14218
It may be worth waiting for the 2013 list as there could be a few more on there.

ace gens stick packs from giantshark mate. They are 32 quid each and are brca and roar approved. Considering there is only 3 factories in the world that make lipos, paying more for big brand is silly. They are all much the same
