Default Another cell thread.

I didnt know where to put this, so i decided to make another thread, if jimmy wants to move he can do.

Right, i have just been browsing here

http://demonpowerproducts.co.uk/prod...oducts_id=2765

Now if you look at the "matchers" reccomended guidelines for charging etc it is above 1C which is reccomended by the BRCA.

Is it now illegal to charge above 1C or is it just a guide line

Hey Lee,
I believe it is just a guideline.

With IB4200's I think it is important to follow that due to their weakness. But with the new breed I think the cell is far far stronger, and im charging at 5amp. Which to be fair is only 1.0869c

Nick knows his stuff, when I was running his EP4200's I used (before the BRCA 1c guideline) to follow his advice to the letter and never had problems. The cells will still give out well over 4200 after almost a year

"Always charge on day from flat for max performance. You can let cool after a race and recharge when cool for a later race without any loss of performance. No need to discharge after 1st race."

Quote from the Demon website.

The bit i am interested in is that when using a pack for a second time in a day discharging before the second charge is not necessary. (Funds or lack of them mean I have to do this!)

Does anyone have any knowledge if this is OK for any Nimh cells as my new IB 4600's have large amounts of power left after a race?

Discharging them on a chargers built in discharge mode gets the cells reasonably hot and is inconvenient and time consuming but I had thought would have been better for the cells, is this not true?
