Nook track is real bumpy, exactly what you would expect for a venue that is really for 5th scale. It had to be treated with a lot of respect, attack too muck and you are gone.

Slow=fast.

I susepct G was actually helped by having the engine still very rich, probably kept the speed down a little. G's skills on a bumpy track were very evident, thats running preds for so long, them buggers really teach you to respect a bumpy track.

Thanks to the Nook lads for putting us up for the day, and to the SlowLowe, Lil Ben, John, Papa-S & The Verminator for fuelling us up and keeping us running.

It's just a shame that Tom & I both had drive-train problems in the 'A' or it could have been '3-oOplers' in the top 4 or 5 places.

How did you guess Damo? I think both of us had the pin fall out of the front centre CVD. G is gonna heat shrink them for me so it will be sorted.

It was the grub screw in the CVD on the front-prop, not where it's onto the pinion gear.

At least the engine didn't fall out again.

I listened Dave! Mine are done, and ran all day without a problem (apart from the engine being a bitch to start due to the pinch! ).

you need a heat gun like we do graham..makes an incredible difference,starts first time and no need to wait 3-4 mins to get engine upto temperature,makes the engine last sooo much longer too and stops the conrod from getting hammered to death on a new engine(you might need to replace the conrod after you have run a gallon thru it,seeing how many new os 21's snap conrods i personally would)

see if you can drop on a 12v hairdrier(most camping shops have them) with some decent heat from it.

we also noticed on bruces that the spring perches sometimes get dislodged and can either come right off or end up sitting cockeyed,so you can drill a small hole thru the bottom of it and tie wrap it onto the spring so it wont move or get the hong nor 16mm big bore bottoms,they have a much taller shoulder so the spring cant come off it and are a direct fit.
