Let's try out some race'n
Hope these USA threads start taking off... I've been reading all the international info and it's great. I currently have R/C's for bashing around the house with my kids. I really want to start racing at the local track and I think 1/8 scale buggy is the ticket. At least that is the most popular class in Ohio apparently. I really am interested in 1/10 scale 4wd brushless electric but the closest track is an hour and a half away? I guess I need to run what the closest track is supporting. On that note I have looked at the Losi, RC8, Jammin and HB. They all seem about the same and everyone has their opinions. Any USA or international suggestions would be appreciated. I'd like to build this winter and have ready for spring (not opposed to RTR) for starters. My nitro experiences have been with my T-Maxx 2.5 (which is sweet).
Thanks Oople for the website and the opportunity to post Thanks to all R/C fans... Guess I'm a 32yr old kid at heart. |

Any of those kits are a good choice. They are easy to get parts for. Look and see what kits are most popular at your track. Running what the others are running will allow you to share setups. It would also make having spare parts easier to get your hands on too. I mainly run electric 1/10th scale here in Florida. I ran a Kyosho 1/8th buggy for awhile. Nitro can be fun but I seemed to enjoy the electrics better. For me there is less maintainance and with LiPo/Brushless you can run for a long time on one pack. Also with the LiPo/Brushless combo the cars are insane. They are also harder to drive due to being smaller which in the long run will make you a better driver!

as said above all the cars that you have mentioned are ok so see what is popular and stocked by your local hobby store so that spares availability is ok. also there is a rising trend at the moment for brushless 8th so perhaps ask at you local tracks if they have a heat for this as well
