Default Thinking of joining you!

Having last raced (on road) in 2002, I'm now kind of itching to get my thumbs working again and getting back to my off road roots.

Lots has changed since I last took hold of some sticks, so I'm after some advice. I'm looking at starting back with a 2wd buggy (always preferred 2wd > 4wd), but have no idea what is a good car to start with as there seems to be so much choice.....back in the day, it was an RC10, Losi or Cougar.....

What's popular at Mendip and gets good support?

Welcome to Mendip. The most popular 2wd at Mendip has to be the Schumacher KF2 but there are a number of Associated B5M, Serpent SRXMM2, Yokomo BMAX2 and YZ2. All the online stores carry spares for these buggies. Take your pick of one of the above based on personal choice and your budget, there is enough experience at the club to help you get your buggy going well.

Agree with Paul there. There are a lot of different opinions on what buggy is best...... In my opinion, pick one that's in budget and that you actually like

Other than that, just come on down to the club and we will do our best to help out, if you need it

We run all classes at Mendip, 2wd, 4wd and SCT on the off road track. 2wd seems to have a huge following during the summer months. 4wd seems to have taken off a bit more during the winter. SCT, generally run at least a heat on race days...... Take your pick!

To echo Dr.P - Welcome to Mendip

Don't forget the few of us with Team C TM2's! But for the best support with setups, etc you will be best off with a KF2 or YZ2, as that is what the majority run. The SW RC guys are normally there on race days and always carry some more common Schumacher parts with them.

So a year has passed and I've done nothing apart from pick up some cheap used radio gear.....fail. To be fair, I've been expanding the family and moving house, so frankly this hasn't been the highest priority. But I'd like to change that.

So, I'm looking for some gear, possibly used. I'd like to buy locally ideally rather than take a punt of this forum or ebay. So please do let me know if you have any good quality/condition used equipment for sale. I'm specifically looking for a 2wd buggy and all other gear to start back up.

Is it ok to post a similar request on your Facebook page?

Funds will be available in early 2017 and I'm planning to pop over to your 2nd Jan meeting (weather permitting)

Might be worth posting on FB page as more from Mendip will see it there ...

I did pop down for an hour this morning, but didn't stay too long as I had other stuff to do (plus it was bloomin' cold.....).

I've bought a used Team C TM2 v2 from here, but need electrics now. Hopefully up and running shortly.

I'll stick a post on the Facebook page but wanted to check it was ok to do so beforehand.
