Default Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April 8th IC On Road National.

This weekend sees the BRCA 8th Onroad Nitro National come to Mendip Rc Raceway. Practice on Saturday and full blown racing with its nitro noise and smells all day Sunday. The cafe will be open so pop along and watch some first class racing.

Please note both tracks will be closed to practice as its a National meeting.

At the moment its mostly 2wd buggies and a heat of short course trucks. A few of us run a 4wd now and again, but its the exception rather than the rule. The club don't turn anybody away if you want to run 4wd, but its much better to pick the popular class to race.

In terms of manufacturer, there is quite a healthy spread at mendip. Yokomo, and durango are fairly popular, but you will usually see a shumacher, associated or beardy welshman with a losi.

What Dr Fly said!

I love my Yokomo round our track...and there are a few others running them too, so plenty of advice available.

Durango's 2wd has been/is popular too, and the Schumacher KF is the new toy that people are playing with right now too as it follows the new trend for a forward mounted mid motor layout for high grip tracks.

Car choice is very personal though...best bet...come along and see what's going on, and take a look at all the cars in real life before you commit cash to it.

We race all year round, so I tend to think an all round car is your best bet if your going to be regular at Mendip. No idea how well the high grip KF will cope with our lower grip winter racing!

One thing is for certain though, unless your a Lee Martin or Neil Cragg with your thumbs...it probably doesn't make that much difference in reality..so get something you like

As i have no experience I dont want to be the new guy with the great car and no idea how to use it
