Regional info
Having not done any regional events before there are a couple of things I'm unsure of . What is the difference between the regional and open classes and which one should I enter? For the tyres is it just the type that is controlled or is it the compound as well? If the compound is controlled where do you find out what is allowed at each round?

IF YOU ENTER THE OPEN CLASS YOU ARE NOT ENTERING THE REGIONAL EVENT OR SERIES - It is there just as additional races on the day.
The tyre rule is just for make a model of tire and not for compound of amount of tyres used. It is the same for the entire series at all the clubs hosting events

Mark,
As Tony said On every regional, lets take a 2wd round, there is the regional 2wd series taking place and also an open class which has to be 4wd. This gives all club drivers the chance to attend and race no matter what car they have. If you have both, then you can do the 2wd, or you enter your 4wd in the open class. Visa versa for a 4wd round. Tyres is Ballistic or Schumacher Mini Spike, which we all use anyway, so that's no biggie. This is only on the rear driven axle. Any questions, post up. Check out Steve's long post in the Mid South forum area (or the same post is on our own Facebook page.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Neil, I have read the long post and wanted to clear up a couple of things I was unsure of having read it, hence this thread. May have a chat with you down the club about compunds for different tracks, or would it be the same ones we use on our track? |

If you are refering to tyre compounds then its pretty simple:
Dry = mini spike yellow compound rears and either yellow staggers or cut staggers on the front. The cut ones have more bight and depends how you much front end you like Wet = Ballistic Buggy mini spikes green compound on the rear and then the fronts can be as per above or balistic buggy mini spikes green on the front too Except for Herts, which I havent been to yet, they are all astro like ours

Thanks for the info, will make sure I have sufficient sets of tyres for the 2wd and 4wd regionals I can go to. Must check the dates against my shift pattern and work out which rounds I can get to.
I found on my sv2 that cut stagger silvers worked well in the wet. Does any one else plan on doing the 4wd regionals? |

Think a fair few! Remember at each 4wd round there is still a 2wd support class!
