Talking First race with Ansmann Magnum Truck kit

Hi guys,

my local club is planning a long term team race in september
with a special reglement.

At the starting time, probably 10 o clock on race sunday morning
each teach gets a kit and the first one, who runs 400laps (ca. 4h runtime) with this car wins the race.

So we are looking for a cheap car, which is nice to build , to drive
and reliable.

After some investigation in the internet for this specs, the Ansmann truck kit came into our focus.

So last week i ordered from ebay shop an Ansmann magnum kit for
60€.

In order to avoid profits in building this car for myself,
i gave this to my dad, who build his first car kit ever,
my part was the electric.

The kit itself is very nice, all screws are with 2mm hex, even the ball screws for the ball cups have 2mm hex drives,
the cvd´s are unbelieveable for this price, the plastic shocks are nice to build, instructions are easy to follow,

Without any training because of the rain on saturday i came on sunday morning to the track and decided to run the Magnun in complete
Kit configuration, tyres, setup
(only change were 40wt oil in front shocks and ball bearings all around)
and the kit motor in the Monstrertruck class.

The race track was soft and little wet and the car ran well, even with the kit tyres, nice steering, little loose at the backend.

I finished the race at 4th position, the only minus are the shocks,
because the were completely in plastic, in opposite to the pics at the Ansmann page.
After a landing after the small double jump, the cap popped off at the
threading on the left front shock.
I repaired it with superglue and glasspearls to finish the finals.

A minor Problme was the dirt, which came in under the gearcover,
i gues the Motor blows the dirt in, because it hat a little ventilator
for cooling inside.

In the evening i mailed to Ansmann the Problem with the shocks
and why these are differrent to the pics, where the Caps are two-piece ones with aluminium.

The Ansmann service guy gave me a call two days later and
after the explanations of the problem they will sent me the correct
shocks.
Top Service!!!

I think, it was an succesfull test for the Teamrace.
