I've just got back from a lovely holiday on the Norfolk Broads. Would everybody like me to share my holiday snaps?

Be a good sport and post some more pics of the buggy? Looks interesting!

This pic was taken at the infamous St Ives/Sydney track which hosted the IFMAR worlds back in 89. The track layout remained almost identical to the track back then. It was just a few years ago when they completely remodelled the complex and the old track is now gone forever.
Sydney still has 3 dirt tracks in operation for 1/10 electric off road today.

Thanks for the info Jason...I'll bear that in kind if I ever visit Australia.

In the UK we tend to race 4wd indoors...understandable if you consider the rubbish weather we get here! But I can't help feeling that dirt tracks are the ideal surfaces for 4wd buggies. Racing on carpet or polished floor just doesn't seem right...

Regardless, we've just got to make do with what we have.

I'm on the cuff of doing a track tour round Sydney shortly. I'm going to be testing some vintage racers but I also want to take my digi SLR and shoot some pics of these tracks and facilities. My intention is to share these images up here in a thread dedicated to tracks around Sydney/Australia.

I feel the same way, If I am racing a scale buggy, truck, etc.. I expect to race it run it on a scale surface/track.
The local track I attended was all dirt with the exeptions of some pieces of carpet on the jumps to protect them. But the weather here got unbearable so the owner decided to cover it up entirely with carpet.. blue carpet
The track obviously was never the same again; no more rooster tails of dirt and the occional flying rock pebbles, it was just not as interesting

All being well, Jason and I are going to meet up and be racing together in a few weeks in Sydney (fingers crossed!) and if it happens we'll put some pics on here for all to enjoy

That sounds like great fun on the dirt tracks out there (lucky chaps). Which cars are you planning on running Dan? Something to whet our appetites!
