Default Trip to quadcopters.co.uk .. Dangerous !!

Well had me some time today ( for a change ) and needed some bits n bats to get andy's 330 finally flying. Quadcopters.co.uk is not to far away from me so I thought id nip up.

Saw some huuugeee quads there, the s800 I think it was and the new tbs discovery pro. After having a quick browse I decided sod it and bought a dji550, landing gear and a naza lite with gps. I chose the naza lite simply as it has gps, reasonable money and is probably more suited to a calmer 550. The kk2 will stay in the 330 ( if i actually get it flying see below ).

Feeling rather good I came home with the intention at least get the 330 finally in the air and a nice project over the next few months to build up a decent spec 550. ( those with kids and plenty of outgoings will understand ha ha ). Dozy git that I am though left my Frsky rx in there workshop though dammmn!! My only free night and now I cant even finish the 330 off.

I suppose I can always build the 550 frame and landing gear set up just to torture me though

One day I may actually get to fly one of the quads ha ha.

Ps on a side note, I sold my mate the v959 and went flying with it yesterday in Rossendale. A slight breeze only took it to the highest tree in the park whereby we cant even see it anymore . we could hear it spinning up but after 2 mins it just stopped.

Anyone with a fpv quad localish care to help us find it lol.

Col.

Crikey !!

That's some serious impulse purchasing on the 550!!

Get it built and flying with the Naza Lite - you can give me some tips then for when I get mine done

That's how we roll mother fu.... !! oops sorry iv not had a drink and probably been watching too many action films ha ha.

I still need to get the 330 running yet ha ha.

Im still waiting on getting my receiver back, im undecided on whether I should return the landig gear as its looks almost identical to your 450 landing set and get a proper setup like the aeroxcaft stuff you and northern have. Is this the same setup as what you got and decided it wasn't very good.

Oops would help if I attached a link

http://quadcopters.co.uk/200mm-multi...f550-816-p.asp

Quality wise its very flexy, and I suppose if I was to land a fully loaded 550 with expensive gimbal and camera I want to know in a hasty landing its not going to explode

Yep - I bought that cheap landing gear - its ok but not great.

I went with the aeroxcraft gear as it gets the camera out in front and balances it with the lipo out back. It's not really massively better in terms of build, but overall I'm sure it will be better for the gimbal & camera.
