Default I need a charger!

I used my generic B6 mains type chargers - the ones most chargers seem to be based off and what I used for racing. Charging a 6S 5000mah pack meant the charger wouldn't go above about 2.3amps and got really hot.

One charger has packed up now - the other I'm using a large fan to keep it cool but of course it's still slow.

I really could do with a reasonably priced dual charger that can charge 6S packs at a decent rate - like 4amps and do all the balancing etc. Oh and be mains powered.

Any ideas?

On the positive side - I've flown my Hex the past three days in a park and not managed to crash yet GPS is amazing, it makes idiots into stars!

Will let you know mate - so far what I've seen have been all 12v powered which would mean investing in a 12v supply also, not ideal.

Flys so well mate - you'll love it. I might try strap my BIG camera to it and just have it taking a photo every couple of seconds or so to get some really nice photos from high up. I still need to build my gimbal for video stuff so I've only used a gopro on it so far.
If you're not doing owt mate, we can meet up daytime some day and have a bit of a fly. I did try fly it in the moors but it was just far too windy and I had to give up. The local park is fairly sheltered and there's plenty of space so it's where I've been using it. I think it does around 20-25 minutes on 10,000mah - but I've never timed it.

I bought one of these from that RClazy bloke (Simon Crabb?) second hand:

It's 12v, but I think one of it's rebrands is 12/240?
Built some charge leads and modified some balance lead extensions and it's ace! Will charge 1-6 cell at a max of 5amps per channel.

Not exactly cheap but MB are getting these in quite soon I'm told. Damn nice looking and powerful enough to charge my 6S cells at fast rates. Might have to save up for this tho.

I'm just playing with the Hex at the moment - learning how to fly it, so I'm not desperate for a new mega charger but this one is the most appealing I've seen.
The usual 50w chargers just don't cut it - i think you need 80w or more per pack to charge at a decent rate.

You really need to buy a power supply has your are very limited, with crap 50/80 watt chargers.

I would be looking at the icharger range, you just need a a budget of about £130/50 for a decent set up, I do have some links

I have used my icharger 208B for 3 1/2 years no probs, and power supply was the much more one but only puts 15v in to the charger no good anymore, so eFUEL power supply are great money £75 for that £75 charger in my eyes that a good deal for a ok set up

Which will be £10/15 more expensive as well. EBay is the cheaper option

Lrp quadra v1 charger/discharger & balancer is very good value. Less than 135 and also can be plugged into the mains or 12v

Another vote for Revolectrix - the last charger you will ever buy and start parallel charging your packs.

AC chargers are pricey but this is maybe decent enough. Don't know who has them in stock though, Click
Personally i'd choose a good DC charger with a couple of cheap supplies.
