Default BRCA Finals etc.....

Having not been a BRCA member for at least 4/5 years, can anyone tell me what the deal is with formula's and end of year finals?

I've just got my license again so assume that i must be an F5 now?

Can i still get my F2 license at Regionals if i get on well enough?

Also this year would i be able to compete at the F3,4 & 5's AND the F2's or would i have to wait until next year to do the F2's if i get it this year?

You step down one licence a year... so if its been more than 3 years since you last raced, you'll be an F5 again.

Yep you can still get your F2 at Regionals... and yep you can compete in the F345s AND the F2s!

I'm an F5 cos i've been out of the game for 8 years or so, and i'm gonna do the F3, F4, F5's, and the F2's. I think the F3, F4, F5's are at Coventry this year...although not sure where the F2's will be

Nick,

As long as you finish in top 20% of final standings in the regionals you will gain F2 if not you will get whatever licence for position you finish in. You can attend all end of season finals just tell Phil Truman you want to go to them, he will put you down. F2's are at Silverstone Buggy Club this year.
Be good to see how you get on this weekend with the trusty Cat!!!
There was one or two last year at Nationals and they were still on the pace.

Thanks for all the quick replies!

I've just found out that i can actually only do 2 of the 2wd regionals so that kind of messes up my plans for the end of year Finals but will have to see what happens i guess ??

Thanks Jon, looking forward to this Sunday, hopefully the Cat will be ok but she's not turned a wheel for a good few years so i'm sure there'll be a few little niggles - just gotta hope none are too serious or un-fixable

Nick
the end of year finals have been a little undersubscribed the past couple of years so i don't think it would be a problem for you to get in for both 2 & 4wd. I assume you will be representing mid-south? about time we had our own ringer after Niggs last year!

The top 20% that John mentioned excludes any current F1's and national F2's. So it is the top 20% of those left. If you don't make that you should retire again!!

the grade you get this year determines your license for the following year. So this year Nick is F5, so he can enter both F3's and F2's. But next year he will only be able to enter the F2's

he won't be able to compete in next years f3/4/5's.

for the f3/4/5's it's the top 5 from each license grade from each region that get automatic entry, after that any place's left are slit between the regions usually on first come first entry basis. so you would need to speak to your regional rep and make them aware you are interested at racing,
can't see it being a problem as the out of the last 4 years f3/4/5's there has been some space's available on both day's

Your F2 doesn't count until the 2008 season... so for the finals you're still whatever you were during the year.

*EDIT* Oops, getting slow in my old age!

I'm not worried about 2008 really, just hoping to be able to do the 2007 Finals (F2's and F3,4 & 5's if i can)!

If my F2 doesn't count until 2008, how can i do them this year then?

Sorry, it's years since i've had to look into all this stuff

Jim, yes i would be representing Mid-South if i end up qualifying. My main concerns are reliability to get through the regionals ok, then i may "borrow" some kit for the finals........

You don't need to be an F2 to do the F2 finals... you just have to be an F2 or lower.

I've done them the past few years as an F3 and 4...

excellent, we should have a strong team then and a good chance of retaining the trophy! Although we've lost Mr Spenner, we might gain Darren Boyle who has also dropped back to an F5, if we can talk him out of retirement!

Jim
Darren is actually F3 this year due to not doing the regionals last year and he hasn't been doing nationals for quite a while so I beleive his F1 is over 5 years old as well so he can still race at the F3's.

See you Sunday.
