Default B4 rtr speedo limit?

My father in law has just bought a B4 rtr kit

He currently drives like 'driving miss daisy' when he borrows anyone elses car. Watch next week at Southport

When he figures out what the left stick does can he put a hotter motter in with out setting fire to the speedo?

If it is the 'RS' version you got, the LRP speed controller can handle 13t.
