Just looking through some of the online documents for my course and found this

Scope of competition: - Endurance, sprint, figure of eight and acceleration

Maximum of two wheels per axle
I/C engines 2.5cc (MAX total cc within vehicle), glow plug configuration, 16% nitro fuel.
Materials - steel round or square – see bottom of page
Chassis needs to be a spaceframe, student design – no “base plate” designs will be permitted.
The main frame must be constructed from the 6mm round or square section solid steel supplied.
Fuel system - students to use self made fuel tank, tested for integrity 110cc MAX capacity
Exhaust system – must incorporate effective muffling – open pipes/no silencing will be prevented from running in the event – preferably student design
Two servos will be provided for steering and throttle control
Transmission - student design– up to two axles may be driven
Note that any high speed (6000 RPM and above) must be shielded with guarding to provide containment in the case of parts breaking away from the designed assembly (ballistic shield)

Suspension system - student design
Steering system - student design
Any body style is acceptable but must enclose engine, electrics, fuel tank (note that engine cylinders may be exposed or ducted for air cooling purposes)
Restriction on vehicle max track = 250mm
Wheelbase nominally 400mm (+-50mm)
Wheels (1/10th scale = 65mm diameter * 24mm wide nominal dimensions across the tyres)
A braking system may be incorporated in the design but is optional.
Construction Materials available: -
6mm round and 6mm square bar material – mild steel.
Additional sheet metal of the following specification and size will be provided
300mm* 600mm 20 SWG mild steel sheet – one piece
300mm* 600mm 18 SWG aluminium alloy sheet – one piece
Some additional materials may be available by separate negotiation.

I'd be interested in watching the video of it run flat out down the straight, straight on at the first corner and into the wall.

I've got callum white and a guy who does the micro nationals (he's sponsered too) on my team, we are gonna be ace. Already spoke to martain about the engine

Not fair Ant!!! Now that sounds like my kind of course work!!! The best thing that we made at uni was a set of digital scales - which I thought was an odd choice for a bunch of students...... I am sure some of my class made good use of them! At least we know that if Ant is the test driver then the car will be have to be made of RSJ's.

Ant, when it mentions "maximum of 2 wheels per axle", are you actually planning on fitting 2 wheels or will you just leave 1 off given that you usually lose 1 during the course of a race?

Did u make yours with parts of other scales and mix em all up to end up with one out of date one? Then buy new ones!! Lol
