Default Track Work update next work days Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th

Up-date

Where we sit currently:

1. Area cleared of astro and leveled to a non acceptable standard!
2. Drainage through middle of track complete.
3. Rostrum moved and re-positioned and part painted and rubbed down.
4. Area cleared next to both sides of race control.

Next steps:

If poss Saturday:

1. 19 tons of recycled hard core 40mm stuff to be dumped middle of track. Will be delivered Friday PM.
2. Half the track aka the soft and non roll able side to be spread with hard core.
3. 3.5 tons of grit to be spread of remaining part of track with cement dust to enable firmer base for rolling.
4. All area to be hand levelled with rakes and roller.

We need 6 - 8 bodies to achieve this work load????

On Sunday weather permitting as Saturday looks the good day:

1. Finish any remaining work from above.
2. Fleece to be laid out across whole area and pined down.
3. Astro turf to be laid and glued together.
4. All outer edges finished with old astro turf.

12 + bodies to achieve work.

We have no choice but to use hard core to improve the base for the track, as with current weather conditions presented, however long term this will only help with drainage and racing conditions.

Please help this weekend, as we will lose a week’s racing if we fall behind on the plan above. Post on oople or contact through torch website offer your assistance.

My appreciation out to last week’s supporters:

Afraid I can't make this weekend or next, but if there's more to do the weekend after I'm free.

What do we use to level the hard core?

Ok guys, due to a lack of support for Saturday, we will only be doing Sunday, if enough of us are available we should achieve most work,

The plan would be to use rakes and wheel barrows to move the hard core around certain parts of track. Roll and use a whacker plate to level hard core. so forth

Please bring, rakes, spades, shovells, gloves etc etc

Weather looks ok ish
