Default Ellis Stafford TQ's & Wins 4WD Oswestry BRCA National

Ellis Stafford quenched his win-drout with a convincing display at Oswestry's grass track venue the penultimate round of the 2011 BRCA 10th off road series.
Running for XFactory Ellis doesn't have a 4WD currently to run so tried both the Kyosho zx5 FS2 and Tamiya TRF511 in practice before choosing to go with the 511 during the qualifying - it paid off with the opening round of qualifying going to Ellis.
Neil Cragg took round two, Simon Moss with the Schumacher SX3 took round three and already confirmed 2011 champion Lee Martin took the final round. Ellis managed to take the overall TQ ahead of Lee and Neil in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The finals were an exciting affair with some of the closest driving and craziest moves we've seen at BRCA nationals. You'll have to wait for the race report and videos to see the madness but Ellis took the victory, Neil Cragg 2nd, Lee Martin 3rd.

Full report on oOple soon!

Well done Ellis - good job as they say!
First Orion UK National win if I'm not mistaken!
New Orion Speedo and Motors are real smooth
I had Ellis's FS2 Lazer off him and I run it all day and 2 things are for sure - Ellis can certainly set up a car and C3 for me states that and the Orion equipment in Ellis's cars have a smoothness that simply help.
I also think if I praise him enough he might forget I gave him a dirty Kyosho FS2 back at the end of the day - LOL

Well done mate

i thought he would have the Xfactory 5.1 prototype by now.. maybe that was later this month. none the less great to see the TRFs up top still, with what looks like a semi stock car, no updated shocks or shafts.

superb. Shows how good it is compared to the kyosho. Question is will he run the 511 for next year if the x factory car isnt ready.

To be fair to the Kyosho though, E was strongly challenging for the win at Stotfold (until his gearbox went) and if there had been a national at EPR this year...who knows!!

I'm pretty sure the car will be ready for next year. We learnt some good lessons with the car I have now and the 2nd version will be a big step up on it.

As to how good it is to the Kyosho that is not true. The Kyosho is a very good car and I'm thankful to Kyosho for the car to help me out at the start of the year as we had discussed with them. The Tamiya I have borrowed from another racer and this is because, as X Factory, wanted to try one to see what it is like.

Both cars are very fast but in very different ways.

It's great that Chazz and Paul have been good enough to allow me to run other manufacturers cars this year and to support the cars as they have as we work towards our own 4wd car.

Maybe I will be running the X7 proto at Southport or maybe even another car? At the end of the day I am an X Factory driver and I run what Chazz and Paul want/ask me to run.

E

Sx3, Durango, b44 next then - lol

Fair play for testing out the competition.

Re FS2 for me it'll be one of those or a 511 that wins the worlds
