Thought I'd say well done to the club for todays meeting. I thought it went well for a first attempt despite some teething troubles. Really enjoyed the track which flowed well. My only deal breaker was the heating or lack of. I was cold all day and struggled to drive consistanly as a result. Also not sure about the choice of control tyre as wear was quite high. Not too noticable for us doing 4wd but the 2wd boys struggled as the tyres went away. Overall a good day. PLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSEEEE sort some heating for the next one. Thanks again.

+1 on more heating please

Track was ace, really good fun to drive. Shame I had bad luck in the final. Tyres for me were not a problem as it was open in the short course trucks. I was running schumacher mini pins all day and they have still got plenty of life on them, but I was only running a 10.5 motor so that might have helped.

Great day for me just a shame my final came to end too early

The heating was an issue, however having this on will cause condensation on the ceiling (more so than there was already) and my charger received a couple of drops on the bonce as it was! But I do agree it was too cold. More layers next time!

I enjoyed the track, I think a fantastic job was done by all involved. The only exception being the chicken wire cross over which didn't quite work out. But the jump itself worked well - as long as you cleared it!

I'm going to be visiting the club during the week as often as I can, but due to the control tyre rule will probably not continue with the Sunday series unfortunately

It warmed up eventually Was a good chilled out day.My only gripe was the tyres in 2wd.90% of people will only want to run 1 set which just isnt enough in 2wd im afraid.

Ill be back either way

Thank you A1 racing. I had a great day (once my diff was sorted, thanks rob )

The track layout was really good and really enjoyed it. Only down side is the brown matting and this is what seams to be causing the heavy tyre wear.

The control tyre do seam to wear alot in 2wd buggys, lets hope they last another meeting or i to may have to drop out too.

All in all a very good, enjoyable day.

Many Thanks
Michael

Thankyou to everyone who turned up today for our first indoor championship.

I will try and answer as many of the queries as possible
Mesh on table top will be sorted
Heating in discussion with landlord this week
tyre ware difficult, Hi grip means high tyre ware, what we will be getting is carpet for the rest of the track the blue will stay and we will cover the hession for the next meeting, so tyre ware should not be as a bigger problem.

Here is a link for the A final 2wd Buggy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYUp_SGNq4M

i really enjoyed today and look forward to seeing everyone at the next round

Really liked the track layout (good job guys ) and the facility in general but the hessian matting was way too abrasive and I think thats what lead to the massive tyre wear. If the tyres had been cheaper then perhaps it wouldn't have been such a big problem - I had a couple of practice runs, 3 qualifiers (gave up in R2 after a crash early on in order to save tyres) and the final and used 3 sets of rears (2 x Terrabyte A and 1 x Multibyte A)

I don't know the commercial aspects of it and whether it would be financially feasible, but if the tyres were say 50% discounted from RRP then there would be far less concern from the drivers with regards to tyre wear IMO.

It seems as though the B compound Terrabyte was better than the A as it was reported to be gripping well, even when the tread was worn right down.

I also echo the feelings about the temperature and the tabletop - glad to hear you have this in hand.

Overall, I thought it was a smoothly run meeting (after the initial troubles with the timing system) and a good venue with lots of potential - well done guys

Me and my brother had great night tonight. All i changed on my car was tyres, Dboots to mini pins and i improved loads from sunday times.

BUT the tyre wear is still as bad. So i think its all down to the brown matting.

Are there any plans to cover the whole track in the blue type carpet?

Many thanks
Michael

I ran schuey minipins and they barely wore at all... You could get definately 2 meetings, probably 3 out of a set.

Thought the coconut matting was a real good surface, the blue carpet was a little slippy, it could potentially help if it was pulled a bit tighter and taped more - i think it ripples as you drive over it a little currently as its not overly secured.

Awesome job A1 Racing Club, excellent facility!!!
