The four-wheel-drive event at the Batley Regional was held on the sunday. A grim start to the day with light showers and a cool breeze was a definite contrast to the previous days sun - the weather did cheer up a little toward the end of qualifying and the sun even came out for a spell during finals. The guys had done a great job on the track, laying astroturf over the clay banked corner - fully covering it and making it raceable once more. The track certainly was far from it's best condition, but given the state it was in a few weeks ago, there's a massive improvement. Graham North was driving the new Predator X11 for the second time - Graham had apparently tried several sets of shocks he'd setup prior to practice so he could quickly swap between them to try different things. His work paid off and his car was looking great on the bumpy track. Richard Lowe took the TQ position, driving the BJ4we. Richard went on to win the A final after a good battle with Craig Collinson and Tom Cockerill. These three were nose to tail coming around the last couple of laps which made for some exciting racing. Enjoy the photos - some 'guest' photos by Paul Rotheram too! :) |
