105 Drivers turned up to the second in the North East regional series, held at Batley Buggy Clubs indoor venue. The track was a mix of carpet, polished floor and gym mats - a real challenge. Track building got underway at 7am sharp. Entries were very evenly split between 2 and 4wd with 6 heats of both classes. Round by round qualifying was chosen - maybe a weird idea since this is an indoor venue and conditions wouldn't change!? You'd be wholly wrong for thinking that however since the temperature can change rapidly inside - and even just a few degrees change seems to have a dramatic effect on the traction available on the polished floor. Round 3 - and thats just what happened, with people lapping up to two seconds a lap slower for seemingly no reason what so ever! Ben Riley won 2WD with the B4 and Paul Bradby won 4wd with his Yokomo BX. Here are a few pics. |
