The early morning started OK but the rain soon came and by the time racing got underway the track was truly soaked. Things got worse and it looked like racing might be cancelled - by the end of the fourth round however things were looking a little better, but there was still a vote on whether to run the finals.

The vote came through with only a quarter of drivers not wanting to race the final. Despite the slightly better weather and less standing water on the track, there were still several more victims of the weather as cars simply stopped working - causing chaos and long delays.

Local ace, Stu Wood, took the TQ in both classes. Mat Latham put up a very good challenge to qualify 2nd in the 2WD class, whilst Chris Cocker lined up 2nd on the grid for 4WD.

2WD A final
Second and third on the grid - Matthem Latham and Paul Rotheram respectively, both failed to start the 2WD A final - the water causing problems they couldn't solve in time. Stuart Wood won with Chris Evison and Chris Cocker rounding out the top three.

Just like the 2WD final - there were problems on the line again in 4WD when Chris Cockers car failed to move on the buzzer. Stuart Wood took an instant lead. Jimmy Storey driving the Tamiya Durga came through to second and held it for most of the race. Barry Weldon mounted a late challenge for 2nd - he and Jimmy (that's me by the way) swapping positions a couple of times. Stu Wood won, Jimmy second and Barry third.
