Ellis Staffords 2005 Euro Champion Wnning XX4
At a recent event I had the chance to snap a few exclusive shots of ELLIS STAFFORDS 2005 European Championship winning XX4. The car Ellis used to win is not a re-released car but one of the original cars. the car isnt very heavily modified but does have a selection of custom made, 3rd party and Team Losi option parts. |

The car uses LCD front drive shafts and BK Bones on the rear. Some custom parts have been designed and manufactured by Paul Worsley to improve aspects of the car. Trinity alloy parts are used in some areas. |

The alloy bearing carrier you can see here moves the layshaft forward slightly to lessen the centre belt tension. The mod is done by Paul Worsley. The black stealthy rubber covers are from the original XX4, and no longer available. |

The small guage anti roll bar is custom made for Ellis' car. Ellis is using longer hingepins. The car is using plastic front ourdrives and trinity outdrive savers. |

One of the most obvious differences to the car here is the blue alloy motor clamp from Trinity, no longer available. I have heard from people that this motor clamp reduces chances of the motor moving and damaging the spur, it ofcourse would aid in cooling the motor slightly also. |

Ellis is running BK Bones, only available to factory drivers at this time. The outdrives are steel and custom machined to accept the BK Bones. The hingepins you can see are (I think) Shock shafts, hence the gold colour and E Clip. No more flappy brace!. Ellis runs his hingepin blocks here UPSIDE DOWN, this raises the inner hinge pin slightly and (aparently) the car rides the bumps better in this setup. The hinge pin blocks need filing to clear the outdrives in this configuration.
