The day started really promising, plenty of sun and not too chilly.. The track layout was similar to the past years ive been to southport nationals, well, in so much as you go down the back section in a similar manner, and its still really tricky and unforgiving.

I had an OK day of qualifying, getting Pole in the I final, im sure im getting worse !! but i really dont care any more, i just enjoy the racing.

At the end of qualifying the rain started and it turned really nasty, a few of us were stranded under the rostrum with no means of escape (apart from beer). It looked like the meeting would be cancelled, but the track was manually dried up as good as possible, and some sections from qualifying were omitted to avoid areas of standing water.

Neil won the first leg of the A before the meeting was abandoned due to another downpour..
