F345 Finals - 4WD - Tiverton 24-09-06

Four wheel drive day started off very wet indeed. A prolonged and dramatic thunder storm the previous night, which kept a lot of people awake, caused some problems. The day dried out nicely though and the sun came out later on.

Nathan immediately showed what he was made of, taking the Kyosho ZX-5 to TQ by winning every round of qualifying. John Spencer was again on a mission to catch Nathan and took 2nd spot in qualifying, also driving the Kyosho ZX-5.
Special mention to Steve Brooke who took 3rd in round 3 with “the drive of his life”, or a freak accident, who knows. Along with an 11th in round 1 Steve just missed out on the A final and ended up BQ.

Nathan again won all three A finals and took his second title of the weekend. John Spencer and Matthew Latham rounded out the top3.

F345 finals are a great chance for average un-sponsored racers to threaten the A final at a National level. I managed to make the A final in 4wd and I can testify to the fact it is the best feeling to finally walk up the steps when your name is being called out and get a bit of a cheer – like you are a bit special or something.

Overall it was a great weekend and the track held up very well indeed and provided some good, fun, racing.
