The track for the 4wd had been worked on from the previous day, with essentially the same layout but with apex's changed, holes filled and a chicane removed. The 4wd cars were a lot faster around the track with the ability to power round corners on the loose surface. This did hasten the track deteriating though and track repairs were made between rounds to fill holes. It was a real challenge to drive over some parts of the track as the holes by the end of the day were very deep in places and cars were being thrown around. Tom Yardy had another great run in Leg 1 of the A final, taking the win from Richard Taylor. But just like Kidderminster, Richard took the overall win, with Ellis Stafford 2nd and Tom 3rd. I drove the XX4 review car, it seemed to like the bumps better than some cars and I was probably faster with it than I realised, though it felt slow. After another horrific start ending up around last in my final I managed to claw back to 3rd and had a good battle with a few cars. Tony Bloomfield took over the Mic for the weekend and gave some great comedy comentary with plenty of cheezy one-liners and gags to keep people entertained. Great stuff |
