Day five of the World Championships is a little break for the drivers - 4WD registration day. A little preparation on the cars prior to practice and a chance to see what new 4WD buggies / parts are around. I spent most of the day fixing the website after some 'hacking' attempt so didn't get too many photos.

It was decided today that the Losi wheels are bigger than the rules allow, and because other manufacturers have copied those wheels they are also too large - only by a very small amount. There was a chance that if someone won with the wheels - that someone could then dispute that, so the rules were hastily changed to 'up' the size allowed from 2.2 inches to 2.25 inches.

Team Academy turned up - choosing to only attend the 4WD class because the new GV2 2wd buggy hasn't been tested enough to do it justice. Academy have four Korean drivers at the event, driving two regular SBV2 buggies - with another two of the new 'ART' mid-motor converted cars also racing.

The Hot Bodies team at the 2007 World Championships is a strong one - Hayato having already won the 2WD event.

A couple of new parts were doing the rounds - a new front bumper which is a lot bigger than the original to protect the front brace better. There are also some new front suspension arms which have additional webbing and 'filled in' areas for increased strength.

The Yokomo team were debuting a new car / parts at the World Championships. The changes from the previous BX are numerous. A one piece main chassis plate and one piece top deck form the basis of the new car. The front of the car remains fairly faithful to the original but uses a new shock tower. The steering has been changed to a more traditional upright arrangement. The rear of the car has been transformed, with a new gearbox and shock tower mount - supporting a new rear shock tower that mounts the shocks at the rear of the car - just like Neil Cragg has been running all year in prototype form. The car also now uses 'Tamiya Style' camber link mounts, which make it quick and easy to adjust settings.
