Should be fine yes. I use either lynx deodorant (not anti-persperant) or surgical spirit personally

I once cleaned a shell with HPI's nitro car cleaner and it stripped the marker pen of instantly.

just draw over perm marker and rub it off

I use non acetone fingernail polish. Works great & don't leave a nasty smell.
