Just to let everyone know that the latest hardened steel longer rear hinge pins for the X6 have arrived today from DDP, aimed at use with the newer rear pivot blocks, these pins are designed to give more strength over the stock items in the kit.

These will be added to our website over the next few days.....

Darren: Are these DDP hinge pins the same as the ones that have been supplied in the X-6 conversion kit for the last few months?

No Craig......the kit ones are titanium from Lunsford, these ones are hardened steel marketed as a Dirtz Dialled Partz product.

So what makes the hardened steel DDP hinge pins better than the stock Titanium ones?

I'm sorry to say that my DDP pins broke straight off in the first race (seem too brittle). So I've used the std. ones after that... without any problems.

I have never been good at figuring things out, and this proves it.

The Lunsford Ti pins we supply are majorly cool, but like anything made of Ti they will bend before they break.

For many years Brian has used his own pins in every car. He likes them because they are super-hard and the arm pivots better on them. Also, they don't wear, so he just puts on a new arm and it's tight but free. And, he has never broken one. That's the truth -- Brian has never broken one. So, he loves them and won't run anything else.

Ellis breaks them. So do many other people. Brian can't figure out why, and neither can I. The company that makes them will not change the hardness because our order size is to the right of the decimal for them, and the cost would be too awful to contemplate.

We supply both so you pays your money and takes your pick: The standard Ti ones are light but they bend. The D.D.P. ones don't wear and your arms pivot better, but some people break them.
