I'm not 100%, but I believe the set-up you're looking for is here: http://www.oople.com/forums/showpost.php?p=123469&postcount=56
Its the first file, "X-5 End Set-Up"

Hey i dont want to hijack the thread but im looking at setups for my thing too, i saw Paul sinclair's setup for the worlds in 05, which i think was the worls in italy, with a bumpy, somewhat rutted track with not whole lot of grip, ive been doing some in-depth reading regarding setup and how to go about working setups, generally, im lazy with my setups and the tracks here in australia on the xx4, the steenari setup (kit setup for the worlds edition) works most places and i havnt had to stray far from that setup. Anyway i was looking at the worlds setup (which i now cant find the link for but i had saved it) and i noticesd a couple of things, the rear bottom shock mount is 0, which im assuming is the additional hole drilled on the arm, and pink spring which makes sense running such an inner mount, but the oil/piston combo is interesting, i dont know anything more about the track, but the aim of the 22.5 oil and 56 piston is to create pack which is better for big jumps etc, the track im racing this car on at a big meeting coming up has a fair few big jumps, and some straights with 90 deg corners, lol, i found a pic of the track, so u can see it for yourselves, heres a link to the page with a better size image http://www.rctech.net/forum/australian-racing/202356-challenge-cup-2008-off-road-14.html

Has the X5 Squared got the same internal gear ratio as the X5.
I'm just trying to work out gearing for the weekend, but can only find a manual for the X5 and not the X5 Squared :o
It's the same ratio.

Am i correct in thinking we want to get as close to the 9.66:1 final drive as we can?
In which case you would use a 19t or 20t pinion with a 106t spur when using a 7.5 (12turn equivalent) motor?
Or am i way off the mark

Hehe, do u mean the trees or the grass or that wonderful blue sky, heheheh, it was a nice day those photos were taken, yeah its a good track, its actually more sized for 1/8 scale, so the 1/10th run a slightly shorter version of the track and the surface is rolled nice and smooth when there is a 1/10 event run, i think 4wd mod are doing 27 sec laps, anyone have any tips on a base setup to go from?
thanks
anyone have any tips on a base setup to go from?
Well, when I used to run a X-5, my base setup was the box set-up :
http://www.4wdrc.com/pdfs/Setup-Sinclair-HotRod2004.pdf
The only differences for a dusty track would be yellow rear springs and no oneway (personnal preference). It was on NIMH though, you probably run with lipos.
Plenty of good setups here :

And of course here :

:)
thanks gayo, yeah ive been pouring thought the setups, and those on the petit website, main drama if that the tracks most of the setups are for are the grippy smooth american tracks and the english grass/astro turf ones, but i like the look of the hot rod setup and a i have a few ideas now, so should be good, oh and yeah i never run a one way, in my xx4 i locked the clicker, i like 4 wheel brakes
