I have just bought myself four sets of lovely new 4200 Firecracker cells but I am a little worried that my cherger might not be up to the job. I have the Novak Millenium Pro charger but it appears that there is no delta peak setting on this model! Does anyone know if this is actually the case, I have read through the instructions and searched through the different settings on the charger itself but found no mention.
If it is the case that there is no delta peak setting, am I right in assuming that this charger should get nowhere near my new cells?

you need to use in it nicad mode, switch the trickle off and I think use approx 4mv/cells. Someone else will confirm though, there is nothing worng with using that charger!

Cheers Col, gutted I can't go though.:(
Thanks for the tip Dan, wouldn't have thought ni/cd mode would be any good for ni/mh! I will investigate further.

Hi Scouse!
I am using the Novak Millenium Pro on Epic 3800 Nimh cells (as sensitive as IB's)
Set the charger with no trickle, 4mv per cell / 24mv per pack, charge at 6amp, Nicad linear charge. For me, this works a treat. Compared to my previous charger (the Eagle CDC) it doesn't get the cells even nearly as hot yet peaks off at the right capacity etc.
The Nimh2 mode, which was meant to be 'THE' mode for nimh, doesn't have a mv setting for cut off. I have not discovered what the fixed settings are, or even tried it to comment.
Don't worry about the charger being in Nicad mode, maybe it should be called "Custom mode" as the range of settings is broad enough for it to be safe.

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt the mill pro use the "Novak Nimh2 Allgerithum" to work out the peak for you, so as i read the instructions all u do is bang it on and set the amps and the charger does the rest.
The way your talking about by using it on Nicd linier charge you may as well get a novak millenium and save a few bucks ! Thats unless u got a novak tc or tc2 and u use the pit wizard
I personally would trust the Pro's nimh2 mode , and if your scepticle then monitor it with a temp gauge or multimeter for the first charge.
