View Full Version : Best 19T brushed motor?
For anyone still using 19T brushed motors in their off-road cars, what do you reckon is the best motor currently available? Need something faster for my B4 / T4, mostly for club racing.

To be honest there is not much to choose between them (if we're talking about BRCA legal motors).
All the cans and arms (with the exception of the Trinity motors) come out of the same factory.
The Trinity 19T motors are not as fast as the Sagami-based ones.
So it comes down to the brush gear as much as anything else.
Round brush motors need a little less maintenance but don't generate as much power. Personally I prefer the laydown brush motors. Brushes are probably going to be a bit easier to find for laydown motors as well.
I've been running the Much-More Eavan for the last year or so in buggies and touring. Before that I was running Atlas Blues.

One thing you WILL need to do if youre running a Checkpoint Money Motor, make sure you use the "Infinity Brushes" from the higher end faster Checkpoint motors, they are about £10 for a set but they last a very long time if you look after youre com.
The reason you need to change them is the brushes that come with the motor from new are made for 4 cell NiMh packs for 12th scale pan cars. Even if you buy a second hand motor, make sure you buy a new set of Brushes if they dont come with them already fitted.
DMS Should have the Inifinity Brush in stock still ;)

na the best 19t brushed motor is the atlas based red can it has more power than the checkpoint and the v2 and stays cooler than the epic based motors. at the carpet wars in chatham in 2008 2day tc meeting 7 out of the top ten were axiom tuned red can atlas i know its for a buggy but if these motors can pull a 1500 gram tc around a very high grip carpet track your buggy will be a dodle.
Thanks for all the input - now I have a lot to think about and several offers of brushed motors to consider too! Cheers.
