Lose Xcerlion esc-Big issue

Hey all, recently got a Used-great conditiong Losi 6.5t combo off guy off here. When got it-Tested it worked fine.. last night I installed the latest update. And finally got it to link to com-.. no idea how.. and tried it tonight.. and nothing.. but solid yellow light on the ESC. Steering works.. but there is no throttle break... any ideas.. I know there have been usses with the updates.. so Im hoping I dont have to send it back or something.. and tried the rx in another car and works fine. So its 1 or 2 things, I need to try and rebing -But need my bind plug which isnt with me.. or its the esc= foockes.. anyone know.. Im hoping it just need to be bind... then redone. But why after upating it would it unbind itself.. very confuzed. And annoyed as was going to take my new b44 to PDA today.. but that idea is now out of the window..:thumbdown:

Jamie, do you have the name of the file you tried to update to? Just to check it's the right one for that model?

Yea But im not sure I can afford to drive 1hr+ to unfortunately watch or get very little run time. If you understand me, If someone will have a spektrum dongle So I can rebind it then maybe.. but unless it can be fixed.. I think I will have to sta tbh.. and do Uni work.. Its really annoying as it had take me soo long to finally get it to confirm the esc was there on the pc interface. And now It wont find it at all.. driving me nuts.. Yea it was the one of the losi webby for 1/10th esc ect.. I hope its just a bind issue... but have a bad fealling its dead.. like somw others that the yellow light come on.. and steering worked :blush:

Have you been able to reconnect to the pc since doing the update?

Just thinking if so I could send the old firmware file to you, and you could see if it would load back in?

If the steering is working the TX & RX are bound together :cry:
Are you sure it was the sensored esc firmware? There is an un-sensored version to that I think might screw it up if you install that.

Hi, when you connect it to PC does it show both green lights?

Um, well I only just got it to find the esc when it worked.. and tried it a few times since -Updating it.. and it wont.. but it toke me a while to do last time..
Yea... that was my concern.. that its all bind up. But I did, try once it didnt work to hokd down the button and switch it on to rebind it. But, im bit stuck.. as I cant really see anyway to reslove it either get it to link to pc.. or something..:confused:

Pretty sure once you have updated the firmware you need to reset to factory settings via a laptop. Have you done this?

It will not register on the pc.. USb will work and tried my mates losi esc and that works but mine dosnt..

The bind plug is just a servo plug that connects the minus and the signal wire, so basically anything metal can be used to put it in bind mode. Last time I bound mine I used soldering tin...:P

my one did same they dont like updating on early models. mine froze it was the software fault. sent it back to horizon models. they sent a new one ready updated . no probs since. and i not bothered updating cos it works fine

Theres obviously an issue with the latest update, it can freeze the esc and requires sending back to horizon for repair/replacement.

So if at all possible 'Do Not Update' until Losi get it sorted !

Yea I know it needs sending back, but I emailed them asking as mine was brought off a user off here. only used few times and brought in june time.. and was seeing what they would say. As doubt they would be keen as its 2nd hand.. but no reply..

The phone was better as I said....they were looking for proff of purchase etc, as 2nd user you wont have that. But I explalined the my ESC was fine until their update, thats just simple to understand. The fatal update is down to them whoever bought the esc first?

When I put that to them, they said right away to send it them. :thumbsup:

Replacement speedo arrived this morning, brand new complete with all ancilliaries. :thumbsup:

I called Horizon/Losi and spoke to the service dept to get some kind of 'official' reply to the problem.

They tell me that all new speedos and relatively recent models come with the latest firmware update already applied, your version of the firmware can be verified from the Losi application screen.

So if you are a current firmware user, DO NOT UPDATE for now!

So I would leave things alone unless strictly neccessary, or until a newer update is available, by which time I would hope that this bug is fixed?

When you plug into the pc it tells you which version you're running. I guess Losi just assume that people won't "update" with what they already have...

Oh Nice! how long did it take to get them to get it ans send new one out?
Just spoken to them about mine going to try get it sent off to them tomorrow.. or maybe later..
The guy, wasn't massively helpfully tbh.. I went through there is atleast 5 people I know had the same issue.. and mine was working before the update ect now it wont.. same thing happen as everyone else.. I asked he said cant tell till you send it to us.. so will see.. I said will it cost, and he was like I dont know. Unless the origional owner-DaveG28 has proof.. they may charge you.. but will see

Clue: Dont get snotty on the phone, you did nothing wrong, you used 'their' update and now 'your' speedos dead! Its a situation that Losi/Horizon have created themselves really, be hard for them to defend themselves under sale of goods act.

Theres no caveat displayed on the webssite I think, so as long as you have followed their instructions, its hard to see how they could say they wont repair/replace it?

I dont imagine Losi need a bad report in any of the usual mags, either here or abroad, and worldwwide there a few guys using these speedos. Pee'ing them off isnt the worlds best business plan now is it?

So get it sent off with a 'nice' letter with all details and see what happens.

yea I know, It was hard to get the guy to speak haha.. 1 word.. and said about 5 in total. Yea I have a copy of what my mate sent with his to them. He got his new worked updated it then dead.. So going to get it sent off with the letter tomorrow.. did they contact you or send the new one.. as I'm away from Monday till the 4th and wont have access to internet ect?
