I have recently purchased a T1 touring car chassis which is in very good condition except the rear diff crown gear is becoming worn and is slipping. I have swapped the front and rear diffs, shimmed them, and this has made a difference however it is inevitable that these gears will have to be changed after a few race meetings. Will the X10 gear fit on the T1 diff? (the one that is available on the Teamxtreme website)
I am aware that I can do a Tamiya gear conversion, but would like to avoid this if possible.
help please???!!!!

the short answer is yes, the x11 diff wheel will fit. you will probably also need the pinions off the ends of the prop shaft too though.

however, you can simply fit the new diffs from the x10/x11 in older cars, either just the diff wheel or the complete diff, although a little modding may be required to get them in without fouling the chassis.

Thanks for that - it looks like one of the gears has been changed in the past anyway. I have now ordered the gear from Teamxtreme.

To get the t1 up to x10/x11 transmission spec, you'll need to remove both ends of the centre shaft. you then upgrage these with the x10 type.
you will then need to get 2 complete diff units from an x10/x11 i did this as the older diff has a smaller inner bearing and would not accept the new crown gear. the diff set will fit straight inn.;););) chris!!!
make sure you get the metal pinions to match. once you've done that, you got a T1 with a bullet proff transmission.

Thanks Migsy - I need to consider my options fully. The problem I have is that the diifs off the Team Xtreme Website are quite expensive. Is it possible to only change the crown gear without anything else?

youll prob find the mesh will be off as the pitch of the gears changed over the generations. on a brighter note. i could do you a set of crowns and pinions off a P8 or can include full diff (alloy or Steel) with karbide balls? give me a shout if interested

if you go p8 style gears, they wont last much better. you really need to get x10/x11 tranmission for reliability.

trust me, the predaholic knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!;):p:)
