Looks like the lower arm pivots which means it wont be legal for a WGT under BRCA rules

Correct
spoken with Jason at BMI and he's hoping as time goes on and the class grows, the cars will evolve and the rules will soon change.
As it is there'll be an eager bunch of 12th drivers trying it out. Nothing to stop GT10 cars running it at club meetings in the UK providing the club or fellow drivers don't object

So this isn't legal as per BRCa rules at the moment?
I cant see the point in bringing illegal cars to the track. Either the club / driver have a bad day refusing the car admittance to the meet or the other drivers feel bad racing an illegal car.
The whole "well it wont count for points" is a dead discussion as it is close racing on the track that matters.
Fair play that BMI are pushing for development, but wouldnt it be better to develop a car that is within the written rules.

Their current Copperhead 12th & 10th pan cars and older all use the kingpin front suspension and fall within the rules.
from rctech
These rules were set when there was nothing but sliding kingpin front ends. The rules changed when the batteries evolved with single cell LiPo. Weights were changed and everyone was happy. Now front suspension has evolved. It is still simple yet works much better than the strut style front ends. If races like IIC, Snowbirds or any other races want to stick to the sliding kingpin suspension, Then Yokomo will be on the sidelines along with me. Didnt seem to stoip them from running and winning the worlds. Im sure that the rules can me modified to allow the 1/12th and 1/10th pancars to evolve. They did it for batteries when they did away with inferior cells. Now its time to do away with inferior front suspension or at least not make companies have to use it.
Our cars will come with the strut front end for now. The next version of the car will not though. It will be a while before that happens but i am not going to stay with the strut after this.

Appreciate you taking the time to advise. That's good news then if they are willing to work within the current rules and develop for the future.

Just to be absolutely clear...
A double-wishbone front suspension is, and always has been, legal for 12th - you will have no problems there.
World GT (ROAR) and GT10 (BRCA) Rules will NOT allow a double-wishbone front end. What Jason (Mr. BMI) is saying is that they will try to get than Rule changed for WorldGT/GT10 in order to allow the new BMI (and Yokomo) designs to be used in WorldGT and GT10. If they do, that will open up the possibility of using a proper double-wishbone front end from a TC, as the space and weight will allow it. Once that happens, then GT10 will get to be as fraught as TC for set-up.
I wish them luck with getting that Rule changed...
