Watching Quali on Eurosport yesterday though, didn't someone mention that Yamaha's chief designer/engineer (can't remember what they said he does now) is leaving at the end of this year too and that this will be a massive blow to Yamaha, so Rossi might actually have made his move just at the right time? We shall see...

I wouldn't be surprised if part of the deal would be that Rossi moves to Ducati WITH his team

Masao Furusawa is retiring end of season, early next year. This guy listend to Rossi when he came to Yamaha and sorted out the back room staff that make the bikes and got the job done.

there was something in the press a few months back that Ducati had told some of their MotoGP staff to look for employment in 2011

from what I have read in mcn over the last few months rossi will be taking his pit crew with him as mentioned above all stoners pit crew have been told to see other employment for next year no news yet regarding burgess (his crew chief and has been since rossi came to moto gp/500's) burgess has stated that he has not been asked but imho rossi would not go without him
also rumour's saying that fiat will be leaving yamaha to go to ducati with rossi so that will be itilian bike / rider / sponser

also read that someone at ducati saying that if they dont give him the bike he wants to win the ducati factory will be burnt to the ground by the itilian public lol
