Does anyone know where to buy the plugs and pins to make up the LiPo Balance leads? With the brca going the route of 'everything in a LiPo bag' the usual length leads (6") are just to short.

Hope someone can help!!

I'm sure Demon Power Products stocks them, but there's these on ebay

Should do the trick (unless you don't have that style balance port!)

Jamie, I am quite able to google 'LiPo Plug' but I don't want pre-made, I need the plastic part and the pins, to make my own :)

Have you already got the special crimping tool as well then?

The tool is similar to the one used to make your own servo lead ends. I have one here but its too big for lipo balance plug pins.

I think finding the crimping tool will be your biggest challenge Steve.

If I can find the components, then crimping shouldn't be a problem.

Trust me, crimping will be your biggest problem. To start with its a proper fiddly pain in the arse to do, and that's using the proper tool on servo wire, so to do it on balance plug pins would be even harder, especially without the proper tooling.

First job would be to identify the manufacturer/part number of the housing and crimps your looking for...

...then it should be easy enough to get them. www.cpc.co.uk (http://www.cpc.co.uk) might be handy (part of Farnell), and eBay also good for bits if you know exactly what your after.

Jamie is right though...bitch of job to do well...even with the exact matching crimp tool for your crimps...which often cost hundreds to buy!

Might be easier just to make up extension leads from the battery end for your current ones? That's what I've done anyway. I know it's not quite as tidy, but it's much much easier to do!

Crimp joints = unreliable pain in the arse!!! Can't beleive the manufacturers of chargers haven't picked something more robust for this job, rather than connectors that are designed to be used inside boxes where the cables aren't handled during use. Actually...I can...$$$$ Grrr!

none of the leads I have, have a part number on them, grrr!!

I think the connectors were first used on the much smaller batteries and have carried over, and I agree, very stupid plugs!

I agree with Andy, make extension leads from the battery end, much easier.

It's what I've done and you could always heatshrink them together to stop them pulling apart if you want to make sure.

A bit, but cheap and effective!
