View Full Version : first run with the 22
Ran the 22 today, thanks Wez for the top soldering job:thumbsup:.........set up the same as the one Knarly old dog,put up,only difference is kit pistons, non drilled,1.3 4hole 27.5 losi oil front and 1.4 hole 35 rear,i have to say it was awsome, there was two of us running them,i ran well worn stagers on the front and it had more than enough grip on the slow corners,Jonni boy ran mini pins and it was the fast sweeper where his just went round flat out, were i had to back off....happy days:thumbsup:

Glad to hear it ran well Mark. I will start running mine when the shell comes back from painting. Might have to pester you and John for setups (not that they will make any difference to my driving!!). Did you run yours with the receiver and esc up front?

Interesting on the oils - the rear a lot thicker than the front!?

Also ran my 22 for the first time today, on our local clay track. Must say that i was impressed.
Build the car rear motor, with the kit setup on it, and it had an incredible amount of steering. The precision of the steering was even more impressive. Also the demping was almost spot on straight out of the box.
Must say i still need to work on the rear end of the car because that was a bit loose. I allready changed the shockposition and some camber positions on the car, and that helped a lot.
All in all a very good and possitive first run.

even more interesting is i changed it to 20wt front and 30wt rear and it was even better, some big jumps and it never bottomed out, some little kick up ramps and it was fine over them,i could go down i the rear a bit as it lifted the inside rear a bit,i dont think as yet going thicker in the front would be the right way as i will loose some steering

Ran mine at Ardent to day too. minipins all round, no staggers here, LOTS of front end! Cut two rows off them, ran harder springs all round and then messed around with camber links to try and dial the steering out. Got it very safe by the finals, but possibly too safe! :woot: But at least now I can dial some back in to my liking.
Cant wait for worksop next weekend now to get on a more consistent surface. Then we can give it a real run. ;)

Are you all running mid-motored? I'd be interested to hear how the rear motor setup goes.

We had one up at our 1/8 scale track this weekend to give it a proper bashing, it held up to all the large jumps, crashes, smashes e.t.c. It's a tough bit of kit!
Ran mine at ardent aswell , I'm very impressed with the
Kit set up , but I did find the rear to be alittle
Loose , had a word with reg as his car looked pritty good
So I also went With the thicker rear oil , which improved it
But still not there yet Carnt wait to run it again

Jon Brooke ran his rear motor last night at West Bridgeford and it looked pretty dialed
