If there is a space and nobody wants it doesn't Darren deserve it after all his years of commitment to the sport??

Not starting anything, mate. Just stating my opinion!!

I assumed you qualify by being a BRCA member after everybody else was asked who's ranked above you!?!?

12. INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
12.1 Only current members of the BRCA can be selected as team members.
12.2 UK team members selected to represent the BRCA will be invited to attend by the Committee and will
not need to apply.
12.3 The World Championship team will be selected in the order of the previous year‟s National
Championship results for each class individually.
12.4 European Championship team places will be selected firstly in the order of the previous year‟s
National Championship results for each class individually. The final date for National competitor
acceptance will be the 23rd. October annually. Any places available after all National Championship
contenders have been notified, will be offered at the discretion of the 1/10th Off-Road EFRA Representative
to the top placed drivers at the British Regional Championships and then to the top placed drivers at the
Junior National Finals. The final date for non-National contender‟s acceptance is the date of the BRCA
AGM annually.
12.5 Competitors accepting an offer of a team place are irrevocably committed to paying the appropriate
entry fees even if they find, at a later date, that they are unable to attend. Every attempt will be made to
reallocate the place but the principle of liability will remain.

Technically true, but not really in the spirit...

I had this same discussion with Jimmy at the Belgium GP.

IFMAR themselfs should keep 4 or 5 spots for "wildcard" drivers. So if some superstar wants to drive this van be made possible, even if there not qualified by their country's standard. (e.g. for when someone like Collari would want to make an attempt or if Matt Francis would like to come out of retirement)

OTOH some registered drivers will at any event not show... so there's always a few vacant slots... you just gotta travel there and ask the organizers kindly to let you fill in those slots

I think normally the "Pre-Worlds" is just a local club race really, where anyone can register. Whilst at the Worlds you need to register via your national federation. Which apply for places at the EFRA AGM each year. Then ranking comes into play if there are too many applicants.

For what it's worth, my view is that if there is space, then someone should be allowed to fill it.

However, it's OUR BRCA rules that are potentially causing the issues for Darren - so maybe someone needs to propose a change if they believe it needs to be changed.

It should be the best 10th off road against the best 10th off road. If 10th off road isn't anyone's bread and butter racing then it's only fair they shouldn't be allowed to race. I personally wouldn't expect a place at the 12th IC worlds (if there is such a thing) because I race 10th.

Hopefully Darren will be able to compete at the next one:thumbsup:

It is a real shame as the Uk team would be stronger with DB in it but yes it is a rule that is in place for the 1/10th off raod section. I could be wrong but i am not aware of this rule in any other sections

I think the main reason why you have to attend quallify races is that they don't want to devide rc racing too much in pro racing and hobby racing. So it is a very general question how you want a worlds to be. I like this rule but for less popular classes its harder to get many good drivers to a worlds.
I didn't expect Hara to come because looking at the HB page you can see that the D4 isn't any longer supported ... very strange though... 4 years ago it looked like HB really wanted to enter the electric offroad market

well if the organisers would NOT put 1/10th races and 1/8th races on the same weekends then it would make a lot more sense, instead of making the likes of bloomers have to comitt to only one series.Same goes for lee martin he could be doing all the 1/8th scales nats as well as 1/10th
its a no brainer really

Highlights from today:

-Every known battery from nearly every participant is deemed unlegal because of height, despite the fact they're on the list. Protests are not far out in the future...
- All Losi 2WD too wide in the rear, none fit the box.
- GB placed infront of Japan in the opening ceremony lineup with hilarity ensuing.

This is just ridicilous situation. It really isn't realistic to measure battery cases with a scale of 0.1mm. They are made out of thin plastic...

In electric offroad it really isn't anymore about who has most punch and power. So this kind of rules are really unnecessary.

I was a bit shocked, shouldn't think battery makers worry about the case being 0.1mm out after use, just think what the price would go up to if they had to make all lipos with machined precise cases that never change after use:o. getting this anal over things may not do anyone any favours

I don't think .1 or .2 of a mm will stop it fitting in our Cars. i think i'd be pretty annoyed having spent x thousands getting out there only to find i need to spend a couple of hundred more on new batteries which could still be illegal! :/

bigger size = more capacity, we have had this before cars had to be made bigger where bat fits. i have done the job with paul for years at meetings i am sure all the makers that have failed will be told to get there act together.
take the batts back to where they where bought and get your money back, all the makers know what the sizes are,as i said it is a max size they will have to make them smaller.

as racers it is up to us to make sure our equipment is legal, it is in the rules for the races

Here is a thought without insight in the actual matter:
You can have an approved LiPo cell in its hard case swell ever so slightly that it is not visible to the naked eye or noticeable when carging/discharging but to a precise caliper. I am open to that posibility.

And yes, I assume the organizers have a proper caliper and not some cheap plastic crap.

Hmm ok I see were you are comming from, so were these batterys smaller when 1st homoligated (errm spelling) so within the limit with ease, then the makers have tried to be a bit sneeky and make them bigger,
Or, are the batterys supplied to be homoligated new, never run in anger, thus when used a few times, poss swelled a little due to heat during rapid discharge. Then tested this accuratly fail as the plastic case has swelled ?

I ask as with thought I did notice this weekend that a brand new battery I used this wekend did feel a very little bit fatter after a couple of runs

it is only at euros and worlds you have to bother we are alot more easy going at nationals, i know that some manufactures do not do any quality control. one motor company had a arm for a brushed motor that they where told had a 25% chance of being illegal and did nothing about it for 4 years and this with a 2.3mm tolerance.

Good going Tamiya boys!

On lipo's, I'm doubly frustrated, firstly as no manufacturer/distributor(?) bothered homologating any lower capacity saddle packs (it's been a pain at times to find cells to comfortably fit my car), and secondly then finding that because all the homologated cells are right on the limit, any slight swelling takes them over. I have 2 packs bought especially for the worlds which aren't useable, not sure they can be returned though, as thu can claim small swelling is down to use!?

The bit I don't get at all though is if you check the list some of the sample cells were over 25.1mm, I'd have thought they would have been refused homologation!?

The battery situation is made even more confusing from the fact that batteries approved with 25.4mm (IB 5400's) still have to be within 25.1mm, which is impossible, even from new. This is why people are resorting to sanding.

Rediculous situation from a rule that has no meaning or purpose.

I'm quite sure a protest could be won, but they've approved sanding, so I'm probably not gonna bother as I've already sanded them.

Very rare i have it right:blush::D

, just can imagin my frustration if I had got my nice new lipos all the way over there, avoided them being nicked by security at the airport, then have them fail by 0.5mm, but then it's ok to sand them down so the case is paper thin, Now they will pass, but the hard case is paper thin, thus unabe to do it's job of containing the lipo should it decide to go up in a puff of smoke:eh?:

on another note, good to see kinwald in the mix

Expansion of LiPo's that have been used is entirely normal. Those applying the rules need to take this into account and should have faith in the homologation process.

Encouraging people to sand cells down is madness.

Hello from Finland!
About batteries, yes its a pain in the ass that loads failed because they were too big, BUT the sanding of the batteries was not officially approved.

About batteries, yes its a pain in the ass that loads failed because they were too big, BUT the sanding of the batteries was not officially approved.

Dave, it's Kovács, though I think I'm stuck with Kojak.

Perhaps we can shed some light on what the quote pertians to?

Don't forget: "G'day gandanga doodle".

Really hope Neil and Lee can get on the podium with one of them on the top step!!!

I think Lee could do well from 6th, few incidents between some in front and he could quickly get up the order with a clean start, plus in Round 5 there was nothing to choose between the top 5-6 so he definitely has the pace, just got to hope for a bit of luck and keep it clean!

I am supporting the British drivers and Neil had a damn good go at it, and gutted that he couldnt pull off a second title. Maifield was sooo fast and piling on the pressure but Cavalieri just held off and drove clean - Good drive!

What happened to Tebo in the 3rd leg? He seemed to disappear....

I always thought for the last race of the day like that IFMAR would just ask the drivers to vote on if they were prepared to wait or not - Fair enough if they all said No but it's not like dumping is an issue, or daylight or anything else, they could easily have just given a 5 or even 3 minute delay for them to fix it :(

posted on Jimmy's report

Drama even before the start of leg three - Neil Cragg couldn't win the meeting any longer but broke his car during warmup before the final - Mick Cragg walked off with the car to fix it but then it was announced they wouldn't be waiting for Neil - the rules state this and so this is what happened. It was a really harsh way for Neil to bow out of the 2WD race as he still had a lot to prove.

We had the views of a couple of racer-dads who rear through the IFMAR rules multiple times and couldn't see anything that would have prevented the race from being halted for Neil to run - and the question of whether they'd wait for one of the three drivers who had a chance to take the title if they'd broken during warmup needs to be asked. It's just toy cars at the end of the day.

There are a few changes to the track however the jumps are approached from the same direction as in 2wd. We'll upload photos a little later :)

leading A1 when motor died.

leading A2 when car mono'd under power and crashed.

I am supporting the British drivers and Neil had a damn good go at it, and gutted that he couldnt pull off a second title. But looking at the facts, we are not as well suited to these surfaces as we race on high grip surfaces so even though Im supporting the Brits my monies on the US drivers for the win.

As stated earlier the US won. Until they change the rules to the way the track is built the US will always have the advantage.

TBH I don't think it is just the track type, if you look at how much club racing and practice the US drivers do before a main event, More than a few times you will read that they will club race 3 to 4 times a week before the event, you just can't do that here, you could do a sunday meet then poss one mid week, but how far would you be traveling? before 8th worlds I have heard of pavidis tebo etc being at the track 8+ hours a day:bored:

As for surface, we could run more dirt in the uk,we used to,we are not the only ones that get rain, world japan, 8th world in us few year ago WET! dirt tracks are quite easy to maintain,BUT you do need another option if very wet.

Yes ok, Iown up I HATE astro:lol:

I know Masami did a lot of practice runs a day before the worlds as well but if these guys are supposed to be the best then no worlds warm ups should be allowed and just dirt tracks is way unfair so should be anything that the country in question decides to set up. So if in the uk we could have the option for astro as these drivers are supposed to be the best then lets see it. The us guys wont come first then.

I agree about the region part. Its a no brainer that when ROAR is the host it will be a dirt track, and FEMCA has a mix of types, but in the EFRA region we have relatively few tracks of a suitable size to host the worlds on a dirt surface.
This means if the UK was to host again we would have to purpose build a track, which is a lot of money considering it wouldn't be much use except for the worlds due to our great weather.
Its not about the right surface for our drivers, so much as the right surface for our host clubs.

Isn’t there a rule stating it has be to a new unused track and surface, hence why dirt is always picked/ favoured as the track is created the week before.( look at Harper Adams before the neo for example)

I remember in 05 at the Bury Metro national Jukka and Travis Amezcua came over- they did a test day mid week with the losi team at Bately

http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/losibatley/

and then at the National, Jukka made the 2wd A, but Travis struggled with the Astro, and they are not slow drivers- Travis could not get on with the grip , nice block took to the banter well.

think in general a track needs to be multi surface for a worlds or a euro's .
like bilbao was , only the rosterum in the center and no quads in there ware you cant see the landing or you take the hole meeting to get just over it lol.
or a track like austria last year on the warm up (not the euro one that was over the top and ruend lol)

The track wasn't bad, in fact all but the quad was great from my point of view, the quad was maybe just a tiny touch too long (or 2 foot too short if you want to force 3+1). A worlds track should challenge the best but arguably the fact even in the A finals people were crashing a fair bit on it suggests the jump wasn't quite right.

Other than that though loved the track, thought the rostrum position was fine and it was nice and fast and flowing! Great experience and a massive thanks to the club/volunteers and organiser for putting such an event on!:thumbsup:

P.S. Loved the banter in some finals too, the Swedes were awesome as well as the usual uk contingent! Can still picture half a bmax driving round now!!

world track in the uk, harper addams costs a bomb and i think can only be set up when the collage in on holliday,

I vote slough 8th track, graet rostrum and they know how to put that dirt track down so it is super smooth!!, it holds together well for 2day rallyx meetings so would last no probs for 10th, and it's not a hugh track.

Oh and as a club they have prooven they can cope with big meetings with ease

The rules specify that it must be a hard packed dirt track.

5.1 SURFACE
Pack able rock free dirt - preferably sifted top soil/clay compound with minimum amounts of sand. Surface should be able to be easily broken and repaired to ensure a consistent and wide racing line. Such conditions have shown to yield excellent racing due to width and consistency of the racing line. Additionally qualifying is fairer as the ability to maintain a consistent surface gives all competitors an equal track that can be enjoyed by those in heats before as well as after his own.

If anyone wants to run any other surface they will have to get it voted into the rules first.

Here's footage from the official finishing line camera from the last 4WD A final, where Jörn Neumann did overtake Ryan Maifield in the last corner. We had cameras like these setup to film finishing line and starting grid during all finals and footage was available for referees in case there would have been situations that would have required further investigation.

RzAxW1ptIV0

Some people were wondering why we didn't use MYLAPS finishing line camera and reason for this is, that MYLAPS camera doesn't show anything else but the actual finishing line, not situations / actions that have happened at the previous couple corners and this way are important when referees are making decisions.

Nonsense, cavalieri, maifield, tebo, cragg, martin, neumann etc are all world class drivers, the top twenty in the world would still be top twenty irrespective of the surface, because they are great drivers. are you seriously suggesting that the American drivers could not win on grass/astro or any other surface than packed clay. they would adapt and come up with a setup and style that worked, they would adapt quickly and would be on the pace straight away because they are great drivers. assuming your theory is correct why did a non american TQ 2wd and a non american almost snatch the win in 4wd?.

As you say, the best are still the best. It would however suit those slightly further down the field with virtually no dirt experience and without the backing of a major team in coming up with an appropriate dirt setup, and penalise the lower ranked US drivers in the same way. Won't change the winner, might alter the D final though!

However, the big issue is the cars. It would favor X6/C4.1 type mid motor cars not the standard B4.1, which considering the major market is the US is not what the big brands want. AE, Losi etc want the car they run at the worlds to be relevant to their main customers.

Are you seriously suggesting that driving on clay week in week out, instead of astroturf or grass, for over 6 months doesn't give an advantage at all to foreign drivers?

I'm not for a minute suggesting that the top 20 drivers wouldn't still be the top 20 drivers on astroturf, just that the order of that top 20 might be a little different. ;)

Experience and practice counts for a lot at that level, knowing exactly how a car will handle in any conditions. I'm just not sure the British drivers have enough practice on dirt.

I heard a quote from Lee Martin saying he couldn't quite get the set-up right for his 511. If he had been driving on clay all year, he'd have had it pretty much right when he turned up there.

Why is it we don't have any dirt tracks here? It's not like we're the only country in the world that has rain.

It's not the surface IMO, it's the jumps mainly the US guys are instantly comfortable on.

The quad in 4wd was easily the biggest jump I've ever raced 10th on, and landing in an area 2-3 feet long after a >6 foot high, >20 foot long jump is not something you learn to do overnight!

What's all this about the Americans having an advantage on dirt tracks? We used to have dirt tracks, back in the day - I remember Taunton being one of the best. And how many WCs did we win? That'd be none then! Only since we had almost none has Neil Cragg bagged the top step of the podium - go figure.

If you go to a WC, are you seriously expecting the track to be as easy as the local clubbie? And if it were, do you think the result would be any different? WCs are big-boys school, so if you go, expect the track to be hard. I went several times, did the best I could, and came home realising that there are not may people who get to be able to say they are the 88th best person in the World at their hobby! For us mere mortals, that's what a WC is about.

Cavalieri has now won 4 EC Off-Road WCs. The only person to have won more is Hirosaka-san. Couldn't we all be big enough to admit that, whatever his nationality or wherever he raced at any time in his RC career, the guy is just plain good? At this rate, who'd like to bet that he won't pass Hirosaka-san's total of seven titles?

Many, many thanks to Jimmy, Mrs O and the crew who wrote the reports. They are the best, most informative on the 'net. Take a bow people, you deserve it.

Dirt is the home of RC, we should have more dirt in the uk:thumbsup:, yes i admit our weather is hit and miss, astro has it's place, but a great dirt track on the other side of the rostrum to the astro track at some venues would be fantastic.

sadly in my opinion, weather was not what brought the astro track to racing....back in the day late 80's 10th was huge, and some big money started to rioll back then qualifing was FTD and dirt/grass tracks were inconsistent, could change from round to round and yes then the weather, so along came astro consistent from start to finish....then every one buggered off to touring cars

rules should not change, worlds =dirt and we did have some top dirt tracks:thumbsup:

yes I should add, that you do need a bit of clay in the soil, there are a few parts of uk that will have trouble with dirt, here in norfolk our soil is very sandy and loose, hard to compact and can be very dusty. BUT this said what I call the hard core part of the uk for racing, south east, and around M1 up to burmingham etc has quite good clay type soil:thumbsup:

Seeing that picture brings back memories of where I first started racing, Alcester Buggy Club when it was still at the rugby club venue. That was a part top soil, part clay, part diesel track. Richard ,aside from the fact that such huge jumps are a challenge, did you actually enjoy them? It seems as if big events try to make the jumps lager and larger all the time just to impress... Not to mention that car design solutions /layouts are severely limited when you got to perform well in those huge jumps...Don't know about others but the huge jump thing is starting to get old with me as well as expensive regarding breakages...

Nothing wrong with having large jumps IMO if they are well designed :)

The big double was a bit of an issue in 2wd trying to keep the nose down, the changes I made to the car were very biased to making the car jump properly and then 'living with it' round the rest of the track, yet in 4wd with all wheels braking the jump was no issue. The quad in 2wd was fun because it was just that bit too long to do all in one reliably so nobody really tried, but there was time to be made landing smoothly and giving it a quick squirt between 3 and 4. In 4wd though it was gash IMO, it was such a lottery as to if your car would survive even if you landed properly.

To give you an idea how rough a landing it was in Q2 4WD near the start of the run I landed about half way down the downslope of the last jump of the quad and the lugs on one side of my steering servo broke clean off

Dude, Cragg won his worlds on dirt, and TQ'd this year.

You shoulda seen when he won 2wd in Italy, the Americans were going off about the traction being low in Italy.

You can't please everyone:confused:

But by suggesting the Americans have an advantage I think actually is putting down your local drivers. A Brit won the warm against all of those big guns, Crag and lee right up there, even Jorn doesn't race on tracks like that all the time, plus I doubt Matsukara had raced on astro jumps before.

You guys have awesome drivers, and they jus missed some luck this year (Cragg in 2wd:cry:)

The worlds best will adapt quickly to any track or surface, and it just so happens that 'the Cav' probably drove the most consistent to take it.

I feel for you guys about not racing on Astro, but I think the dirt rule is a good one as dirt is what the majority of the world race on, and it is a world event.

I hope you guys get one in the UK soon though, that would be ace

From my understanding the Worlds will always be on a dirt track due to marketing ... the manufactures are often judged by the general racers by how they performed at the Worlds and as something like 95-98% of the worlds racing population will race on dirt tracks more often than anything else that is the surface the cars need to be seen performing on!

It's simple economics really.

I never said the Americans have an advantage... just that the Brits have a disadvantage.

I'm also not suggesting the Worlds are held on Astro.

I'm suggesting we have more dirt/clay tracks here in the UK that get used lots leading up to the Worlds. Maybe then we could have a go at hosting it too.

Ideally a dirt track with a sliding roof like at Wimbledon ;)

Nothing to do with marketing, it's an IFMAR Rule that must be met by the organiser. Not quite sure how the astro tops to the double and quad got through, I guess every Bloc agreed to it prior to the event. Having said which, most cars never touched them much anyway!! HTH :)

I have my suspicions that the reason that rule was passed was because that is what the manufactures wanted .... why would you want the World Championship show case event to be held on a surface other than what 95+% of your potential customers will be racing on?????

Behind all sporting regulations there are 2 things ... money or safety :D

SlowOne

As part of IFMAR all those years ago, it wasn't the manufacturers. They can lobby their National Associations by all means, but the reality is that the Rule decisions are taken by the Blocs, and there were then no manufacturer members of IFMAR.

The Rule reflects the fact that it is really only EFRA, and in majority the UK, that runs on non-dirt tracks. The USA is almost exclusively dirt, and most of the Far East (FEMCA) bloc too. There have been some pretty poor dirt tracks in the past (Detroit '91 springs to mind) so it isn't all plain sailing just because it is dirt.

One thing that was asked then, and would have to be asked now - would one of our grass or Astroturf tracks hold up throughout seven days of constant racing? AFAIK, it's never been tried. Seven days of the fastest, most powerful cars driven flat out by some of the best drivers in the World is a whole different ball game to a 2-day National. Where we have tried putting on an EFRA GP on grass in the past (Eden Park and Stafford) the track was like a ploughed field after just three days racing.

Hope that helps understand the issues, and I also hope that one day the WC will return to the UK - both Romsey '87 and Basildon '93 were on dirt tracks - and if it does, someone can put me down to do something in the organisation. I've been Race Director at three WCs and two ECs, and had a ball doing both! But first you'll need a dirt track... ;)

1/10 Worlds Organisation Not Happy
August 5, 2011 | By Admin In Buggy,Electrics,Racing | Comments(0)

Letter by Jussi Luopajärvi, Project manager, 2011 IFMAR Electric Buggy Worlds.

IFMAR Electric Buggy Worlds finished Sunday 24th of July and in the evening banquet I as project manager made statement about my feelings about RC car racing and its current situation. Our club Vaasa Motorsport club has nowdecided that it is not taking part of any international race as organizers until the roles and responsibilities between different stakeholders are solved.

With international race we mean any IFMAR event, EFRA event or a black race. With stakeholders in this case we mean federations, manufacturers, media and organizers. From organizers point of view our sport is in a unacceptable situation. We feel that our work is taken as granted and that we are the only stakeholder to handle risks when it comes to organizing events and expanding the publicity of our sport. After our Worlds the big question was about the organizer of the next Worlds. Who is going to take the challenge and many thought it will be very difficult to find. Why? I think there is only one reason. The organizer will be pretty much alone with their problems.

Different stakeholders are blaming each other for different problems and no one is taking the responsibility. Our assumption is that the sport is growing, but a strong structure and cooperation between different stakeholders is missing. If the sport is growing, then we are in big problems in the near future. We as organizers cannot support this anymore. We have used every possible drop of blood, sweat and tears from our organization to help pushing our sport to next level (Electric Buggy Euros 2007, Rally Finland Nitrocross Championship 2010, IFMAR Electric Buggy Worlds 2011), but all the work is for nothing if nothing changes.

We hope that all stakeholders would sit around same table and decide the direction where RC car racing and the industry in general should be going in the future. Important question is also the roles what each one should have. We also think that IFMAR should be the one to take the leading role here and working in a close cooperation with different stakeholders to develop an agreement about the future. Model car committee of Finnish national motorsport federation (AKK Motorsport) agrees with Vaasa Motorsport club about the problems and these two organizations are available for any discussions or working groups regarding the issues stated.

Nothing changes...

We had the same issues when I was IFMAR Electric Chairman, and the same reluctance to sit down and deal with those issues. Part of my pitch for EFRA Chairman years ago was the desire to get races into all the EFRA countries and supporting them by using the experienced people from the larger countries - giving them support. I got two votes out of 16. I wanted that job and didn't get it, but at least I know I was going to tackle the right problem.

At every event, the Associations expect things to be better than the last event. The reality is that takes ever-increasing amounts of time and money. Then, whatever you've done, it isn't good enough. When something new arises, Rules are changed on the hoof, everyone wants to avoid upsetting people by leaning towards muddled compromise, and few people want to provide leadership or make decisions.

Contrast that with the 'big' events, like LRP Masters, DHI Cup, NEO, Cleveland, IIC, Snowbirds, etc. These are events regarded by the manufacturers as 'must do', and taken very seriously by drivers, sponsors and officials alike. They are generally lead by one person. There is no huge Rule book, there are no Team Managers, there is no International Jury (or other large group to shield Association Officials from their responsibilities) no Blocs to vote on partisan lines... nothing like any IFMAR or EFRA event. They run just fine, they are increasingly popular, they run annually and they are great. Why can they be such good meetings when they don't have all the Rules and paraphernalia of an EC or WC with the attendant problems listed above? It can be done by one person, so why do we need huge Committees?

Don't get me wrong, things aren't about to drop off a cliff, nor can we have ECs and WCs without recognition of those titles by everyone - this isn't boxing with three titles at every weight!! I recognise that 'speech' from the Vaasa organisers, and it rings true with things in the past. I hope the powers that be are listening.

David Church
06-08-2011, 01:46 PM
I was at the Worlds and I spoke to a lot of the powers that be and they are well aware of what is going on!!!

As far as things not dropping off a cliff, well who really knows the answer to that.

One thing for sure is that officials have been there from the beginning and rules are a good thing to help regulate the sport.

I think things are set for a bumpy ride in the next few years. Our sport is growing and the amount of people racing will increase, but where they race is the bit I'm not sure about!
