Hi Guys,
I have just brought myself the following ESC GT2.1 Prostock ESC
I was wondering what setting are best to start off with?
It will be run in my FS2 4wd with SP V3 6.5t motor.
I did try the setting from Tom Cockerill's from March 11 test day software - 422stock with full boost
Gave it run yesterday there seems to be problem with no top end, it accel quick bottom but then mid-top just dies?
I haven't change my gearing at all, but little confused.
Any advice would be greatful
Thanks

Try dropping a pinion or 2 and lower the turbo timing. If you look on the hobbywing site there is a pdf help document you can download. Ran my 2wd yesterday at rhr with a boosted 13.5t and it was excellent.

Thanks will have look.
This was going to be my next question I also have GT V2.1 EX Brushless ESC for the 2wd.
Was silly question but if I ran likes of 8.5t but set the boost etc would this produce loads top end faster than running it as normal if you know what I mean.
Just what I'm trying to say is I have seen when running 13.5t some people seem to get the same bottom/mid pace as me but on the straights they leave me standing like they are running 10.5t motor so would it do the same running 8.5t.
As it's all new to me as I have always run LRP so trying to get my head round things

Yes the top end is much better but you can set it up however you like the delivery on that firmware. I was 0.6 sec slower with the 13.5t than the 6.5t that I ran in the morning. The bottom end was smoother and the top wasnt far off. I still need to play further as the motor temp was fine

The hobbywing pdf says that lower turn motors dont like as much boost as 10.5t and above

It's a lot easier to run the ESC on the 205MOD software which has no boost.
The boost software needs a lot of tweaking to get right, you can easily end up with a dead throttle feel. I run it in touring 13.5 and basically it is a pain in the arse.
In modified it makes no sense in my opinion because you can always motor up if you need to.

I use the 13.5t so I can use more throttle more of the time. It makes the bittom end much more driveable. Faster motors can be too aggressive low down

Ah right sort of get it now.
So if I liked run 10.5t motor will be better on the smoother power demand bottom to mid so I can drive more on throttle?
Then in theory can get sort of speeds mid -top as 8.5t?? well sort of

Youve got it. That way your not squeezing 20% of the trigger around 80% of the track

Go back to the std software. I was using that speedo for most of the season and i prefered it when i went back to standard.

But why buy a prostock speedo and then run MOD firmware?
