My x2c was purchased 2nd/hand, my understanding was it had one uprated idler fitted, another one (AR28T) was supplied with the car, but not fitted. It apparantly had Uprated diff balls.
I've stripped the g/box & found one black plastic idler (i presume the AR28T already fitted) & a nylon coloured one ie, beige. Are the standard x2c idlers this beige colour ?
Regarding the diff balls, mine are normal chrome silver in appearance, i guess i can't tell if they're actually uprated, would they be a different colour if they were ceramic ?
Thanks

Great, lol.
My guess is the previous owner (who works in my local model shop) fitted an AR28T when he owned it. He gave my an AR28T with the car for me to fit if desired. I could ask him, lol, but not before i want to get it back together !
I just want to make sure that they're aren't beige uprated idlers available as, if there isn't then the one fitted must be the original standard one. Also, my standard Mad Rat has a black idler :eh?:

The standard idlers are black as are the new uprated rw idlers(which are sold as ansmann)
The standard idlers have four dots on them and have straight lines in the plastic where the bearing sits(as these are moulded)
The uprated ones by rw have no dots and where the bearing sits there are circular lines because the are Cnc machined.
Hope that helps.

Ceramic balls are shiny black, not chrome usually

That helps thanks, will have a 2nd look at the black one already fitted, i wonder where the other beige one thats in there comes from, lol ?
On the bearings, if ceramics are black, could carbide ones be silver/chrome ? If not then mine may be standard

The black one is either std or a ansmann rw racing one (ar28t) and the biege one is ansmann's own upgraded one.. Hope this helps..

Absolutely right, now spoken to the previous owner. As you say, the black one is the standard kit idler & the beige one is Ansmann's uprated one, apparently it's one of the original uprated ones which has been effectively replaced with the AR28T, so i'm told. Been assured the diff balls are carbide upgrades also

The kit ansmann idlers are black plastic, and the current ansmann nylon idlers are black also, if the other idler in beige ade just count the tooth it is 28 tooth, as i got stook one day and fitted a losi 27 tooth to finish the day on and that is beige,
