Hello,
Excuse me if this is a daft question but i'm only just gettign back into 1/10th off road.
I want to race at the regionals this year (midwest) but don't have a personal transponder.
I've been looking at the MRT ones but i'm unsure about how it all works.
Do i have to get a "unique" number from somewhere to put on the MRT ones? If so where do i get this from? Or can i just buy one and go racing?
Please help, confused!

You can buy an MRT transponder with pre-loaded numbers.
They are not unique (they are taken from AMB transponders that MRT own), but since the transponder stores 20-odd of them then you are unlikely to ever have a problem at a race meeting. If someone else is already using one of the non-unique numbers then you can just change the number that the MRT uses.
If you want a guaranteed "personal" number that nobody else has or will ever have, you need to buy a new AMB.

Thanks for the quick reply!
So on my regional application form where it says Transponder number, do i just write one of the numbers that i assume will be listed with the MRT unit when i buy it?
Also if i do need to change the number for a meeting how do i do that?
Thanks again

I'm sure the instructions on how to change the number will be included, and you can just enter whichever one it comes with as standard on your entry form. The organisers will alert you of any transponder clashes should they occur.

Ive used a MRT transponder and it classed with another transponder so all you had to do was press the button on the transponder , do a couple off laps and the number will be changed and working fine.
