Wasn't me :p

DCM 04-11-2008 06:05 PM

maybe a sneaky trucker got to Jeremy out in Vietnam lol

God, I hate the sticky beaks who take offence at 4 words, that, when taken out of an article, on their own, can look totally offensive, but, when used in conjunction with the whole feature, ended up showing the James, Richard and Jezza, all had a healthy respect for lorry drivers at the end!

Lee 04-11-2008 06:10 PM

If they took Top Gear off air i would stop watching it in a boycott to the BBC

bigoggy 04-11-2008 06:14 PM

now 500 complaints. they are jumping on the bandwagon fast. there should be a place where you can say you wern't offended. bet that would get more people writing and phoning than are complaining

rcracer 04-11-2008 06:21 PM

gets me why these people watch it in the first place if they are going to take offence  top gear without jezzas wit would be like watching fifthgear :D

They don't. It's like the Russell Brand/Johnathan Ross complaints, where there were 2 people offended by the radio show then 30,000 Daily Mail readers complain without actually listening to it.

At least Peter Sutcliffe can't make a fortune off the Sun and get lots of free publicity by claiming to be 'embarrassed' and 'victimised'.

gramey 08-11-2008 08:36 PM

:eh?:Judging by most of the comments on here it just goes to show that years of dumbing down have succeeded in reaching the lowest common denominator.
Clarkson has to keep making more and more contentious comments in an attempt to try and get peoples attention and the programme itself has degenerated into nothing more than a boy's jolly.
If the first episode is anything to go by the series is well past it's sell by date. I really couldn't give a XXXX about three crappy trucks being driven round Millbrook test track, ranks right up there with the crap about re-surfacing a road or ploughing a field.
Whatever happened to the likes of the Ford GT, Zonda, F430 road trip, or Sabina Schmit round the Nurburgring, eg. cars?:eh?:

i think that what they were trying to do was make an exciting first episode, but when you say where have the cars gone, dont fear there going on an american muscle road trip thing this sunday:thumbsup:
theyve got the dodge challenger concept:drool::drool::drool::drool:

:)I saw that and I shall be watching, my son wants me to buy a Z06 Corvette (he really wants me to get a ZR-1 but they're just too expensive), reality says when the time comes it'll be a Camaro (new version supposed to be coming over here in RHD) or a Mustang, due to both having four seats.:)

showtime 09-11-2008 06:05 PM

showtime 09-11-2008 09:12 PM

gutted. went round the Mrs' place as she'd cooked me a roast & as she was running late i missed pretty much all of it

spose i can watch it on the i-player

savageman25 09-11-2008 09:16 PM

or theres dave in like a years time lol

gramey 09-11-2008 09:17 PM

:)Actually enjoyed tonights show, no stupid car boats, tractors, artic lorries or other nonsense, excellent. To be honest it wasn't the programme that disappointed but the Dodge Challenger, what a damp squid, how do you make 425 bhp so slow. Seems like the looks aren't the only thing about it that's retro.
The yanks used to grossly exaggerate their horse power figures in the late 60's & early 70's, seems they've gone retro with their power claims.
I was surprised that being a 'factual' show they never mentioned fuel consumption for any of the three car's, can't think why?:D

:)Don't knock it, you should hopefully be able to buy it in RHD through a GM dealer, and if your like me and got a wife & 2 kids to lug around the 4 doors could come in handy. Still loving the Corvette though, C5's & 6's look good, sound great and now they can go round corners, ZR1 is the fastest production car round the Nurburgring:D
